The situation at Redbull seems to be getting more toxic with every race. I don't even know what to start with.
The car tries to kill him in Australia, fine, could've been a freak accident, its the first race of the season, accidents happen, we all let it go.
Then the next few races happen and we keep finding more and more problems with the car, the downshifts don't work, the upshifts don't work, the car can't do normal starts, the battery is fucked, the car understeers and oversteers and countless other problems.
Then we find out GP is leaving along with other key figures and everyone expected that sure, Redbull does not seem like a good career choice when the only good thing attracting employees is the driver. Their actual strategy to retain key figures in the team is having Max Verstappen in their team. Can you believe that?
The entire team is pissing me off, the aero package is fucked as we've seen multiple times this season, that car has literally tired to kill Max 3 times this season, let's not forget how dangerous that is for Max, all three crashes he's had this year were on tracks that had run offs and safety measures but what happens when he crashes on a street circuit? How is he supposed to trust the car underneath him when it has already failed him 3 times this year?
Not to mention how checked out GP has been since the announcement of his move to Mclaren. Even today he told Max that it was normal when the car snapped on the lap before the crash happened. I respect GP a lot but we have all seen how he's been doing after the announcement, its pissing me off, its like there's no one left to back Max up to the team.
Mekies is there playing the diplomat and playing nice while the team is imploding on itself, his approach does not work when the team is falling apart this quickly.
You cannot be doing stupid experiments with the car just because you believe Max will make it work, not when it costs Max his safety and wastes his talent. You cannot be taking the best driver on the grid for granted just to make your mediocre team look like it has got itself together.
Mekies keeps saying how Max is so important for feedback when he justifies why they only experiment with Max's car only to then ignore Max's feedback and do what they wanted to do anyway. Why are you ignoring the feedback of the driver that won you four world championships, atleast one of which was won in a car that did not deserve to win that year.
Even the atmosphere within the garage is toxic, I've never seen Max look that pissed before the race even happened, and I think even I can see that the relationship between him and GP has become strained and that its noticeable on the radio. He doesn't talk on the radio much, doesn't reply to GP as much, and he does not seem excited to race anymore which is the most important aspect.
I've seen multiple videos come out of this weekend that highlights just how toxic and stiff the atmosphere at Redbull is and the way Max is holding himself around the team does not seem very reassuring to me. He was eager to leave before the race even happened and then he sounded like he had just given up after the crash, and he does not want to be around Redbull any longer than necessary if the video of him running past Mekies is anything to go by.
I would not be surprised if we see an announcement of him leaving Redbull or retiring during the summer break, and I would be glad to hear it. I would also like to remind you that it is now mathematically impossible for Max to get into the top three in the standings so he can now officially and legally trigger his exit clause.

Honestly I don't want any of the British drivers to end up on the podium let alone win the race (except Arvid, ofcourse). Kimi can take this one and I will be glad for it.

Now let's talk about how messy Mercedes is in handling both their drivers. There is clear evidence that Russell took advantage of the rules and the stewards failed to use their damn brains to penalize him and you know why.
The way Mercedes handled the situation is a perfect example of what not to do in a situation like this. This isn't even the first time something like this has happened with their two drivers.
I think it was in Canada when Russell was driving like an idiot trying to get ahead of Kimi and instead of the person that almost got both cars taken out, the one trying to drive a clean race got reprimanded.
Even in this situation they've thrown Kimi under the bus when it was the FIA that fucked up, Kimi reacted to the instructions given to him by his race engineer and the FIA (who did give double yellows and then removed them for Russell only to reinstate them for everyone else) and with humanity and he was punished for it.
We saw what Kimi did after Canada, he knows how to play dirty and he will do it after this too if he feels he's not supported within the team. They have set a precedent for Kimi and you can be sure that Kimi won't make the same mistake twice.
They have got one driver on his way to a clean world championship and they have got another trying to cling to his relevancy within the sport, I think it's quite clear and logical which one they should be supporting, but instead they're messing with both of them and creating a hostile situation with their drivers.
Its like they're trying to manufacture the next 2016 but they don't have two competent drivers, just one on his way to a historic world championship like Hamilton but no Rosberg.
Honestly shame on the FIA and their stewards. The biggest motorsport category in the world and they can't even bring consistency in their rulings after 75 years of the sport's existence. Forget consistency, they can't even bring equality to the drivers.
You'd think that one of the most popular sports in the world would have full time stewards traveling to all the races and an iron tight rule book they should know by heart to be eligible to become a steward but no, the rule book will be changed every year and will only be applied to the non British drivers.
The sport's governing body and the media has an undeniable British bias while Liberty media is breaking their backs trying to cater to the fake motorsport fans (the American fans). This sport is becoming more of a joke day by day.
