Will Byers

Will couldn't help but lean into his mother's hand, finding the motion, the feeling of his mothers fingers rather soothing & comforting for him. Will rather weakly reaches up, with one hand, shocked when he finds himself shaking, shaking from what? Who knows, he'd been in the Upside Down for nearly a week, or was it a week? All of his thoughts are fuzzy, muddled up.

Wills hand gently touches his mums wrist, feeling her pulse point & resting there for comfort, maybe he just needed to know that he wasn't dreaming, to feel something/someone that was living & breathing, small fingers gently move in order to try and comfort his mom, back & forth, they can both try to comfort each other in this moment. His voice comes out kind of raspy & hoarse.

Mile would never be able to begin to explain how they got to this point. How things had shifted the way they had, over the years. Maybe it was separating again. Maybe it was letting time age them a bit — mature them. Whatever it was, it seemed to draw Mike to Will more and more, as the time passed. Realizations, understandings. Figuring out just why things had felt the way they had, after Lenora. Why that damned painting had always made Mike feel so unsure of everything. Truths came out. Will came out. Things began to click together as years passed. Mike realized what that weight in the pit of his stomach had been since he was a damned kid. That need to keep close to Will, protect him. The way he had shoved that feeling onto Eleven the way he had. It all lead to that moment. . .

Through a lot of those years Will & Mike would keep in touch at least once a week, Will would have loved more talk time, more talking days but he didn't want to catch those feelings again, not for his straight best friend, there was no way Wills feelings were reciprocated.

Will was definitely shocked when Mike had suddenly shown up, wanting to visit Will & talk as Mike had put it, sitting back into the couch, comfortable, a cocacola mixed with some whiskey, barely any whiskey, resting into the palm of Wills hand, completely enraptured as he listened to Mikes words, his confessions, it was a lot all in one day.

As time grew with their talk, Wills eyes instinctively caught onto Mikes, unable to look away, a flutter in his chest when Mike gently took his fingers, held his hand, it brought a smile to Wills face, hand entwined with Mikes own, the other hand occupied by Wills drink, eyes locking for a split moment onto Mikes lips, a slight flush to Wills cheeks.

A sudden intake of breath, a stutter in Wills breathing when Mike had leaned forward, a brush of lips, it made Will feel flushed, flustered at the pressing of lips, an accidental whine let out in-between each kiss, gasping when Mikes tongue ran along his lips, clearly asking for entrance, it had his heart beating like crazy, jumping at every swipe into his mouth, the gentlest press of tongue against tongue before it picked up.

A whimper escapes into the kiss when Mikes hand touches & tangles into his hair, holding him there, it felt so good, Will must be dreaming, there's no way this is real, is this actually happening? Will hadn't even realised Mike had pulled from the kiss, or the hand going to the waistband of his jeans, eyes half lidded staring off into the distance.

Snapping out of his daze with a gasp when Mike had grabbed his jaw, to move & look in Mikes direction, eyes catching onto Mike's own, unable to look away, an unconscious swipe of Wills tongue, running along his lips for a moment before responding, with a slight nervousness & also excitement to Wills words.

❝ Y-Yeah, this is good, I'd love to continue, j-just have to place this on the table, I've been gripping it to the point I'm surprised it hasn't broken haha. . .❞

The glass that Will was gripping with one hand reached to the side of him, placing the glass upon a small table he had gotten himself for drinks awhile back, attention quickly going back to Mikes.

Wills hands, reached out, gentle, lightly pressing onto each side of Mikes waist for comfort & leverage, thighs, instinctively opening up for more space, whether that's to relieve tension or open up space for Mike, who knows, a sudden shift of Wills eyes to Mikes lips, a lick of his lips in the process as he speaks.

dammit, why did this have to happen now? one moment he was helping will get some paper cutouts for his project finished, and the next he's dealing with a papercut on his wrist, like a literal child. seriously, even for his clumsy ass, he couldn't remember the last time he'd gotten a papercut quite like this one. it seemed as though the instant the sheet slid across his skin, blood instantly began to bubble up along the edges; usually it took a few moments before he'd see how red it would get, but this time it was instantaneous.

it seemed like will was the first one to notice, though, for instead of immediately tending to his wound, the other came right over to wrap something around his wrist. seriously, did his best friend carry around a first aid kit with him or something? because that was quite fast. he continued to wrap it until the redness stopped bleeding out beneath the tan-colored gauze, and as soon as it had clotted enough a second wrap made its way to his wrist, where the redness would be completely covered up.

Will knew as soon as he pressed a kiss there, against Mikes wrist, he knew it was wrong, but he pushed those thoughts aside in order to help his best friend, to heal his best friend, a flutter of Wills eyelashes as he looked up at Mike, with the gentlest of a kiss upon Mikes wrist, satisfied when he noticed Mikes cheeks flush, it didn't stop the butterflies in his stomach, but those butterflies soon stopped when he heard Mike clearing his throat, clearly uncomfortable in Wills own thoughts.

Wills hand quickly and rather suddenly letting go of Mikes wrist, as if he'd been burnt, scorched in some way, a sudden hiccuping, stutter of Wills breathe before he swallows it down in favour of getting on with his own project, his attention suddenly all on the project and not on his best friend at all, gaze completely shifted from Mikes direction.

❝ Y-Yeah, hopefully it works haha. . . ❞ A fake laugh covered up by a thousand different thoughts in his own head like god why are you so dumb Will?! you've just made it so uncomfortable for your best friend, how can you be so stupid?! Of course that was uncomfortable for Mike, why wouldn't it be?

It takes Mike a few moments to return his friend's hug. It's not that he doesn't want to, but he still has so much to process. It wasn't a surprise for him when Vecna targeted him. But it was still a lot. He's not even sure of how long he was trapped in there, but he knows it made him feel like shit. He still can feel his heart beat so damn heavily inside his chest. The words, the visions... It was terrible. Much more than he wants to admit. He refuses to burden the others with what happened.

"Thanks." When he lets go of Will, he forces a smile. He doesn't want the others to worry about him. "I need... I need to see El." He needs to see she's real, to feel her, the real her, to lose himself in her and pretend all of this mess didn't happen.

Will couldn't help but notice the slightest twitch to Mikes smile, after all they were best friends, Will practically knew every little detail about Mike, especially with the amount of time they'd spent together over the years, the glances, the nervous gestures, an eye twitch as soon as Mike mentions El, Jane, of course he would want to see her who wouldn't? It's not like Will had helped Jane rescue Mike, of course not, well, that's a lie of course Will & Jane had spent the most of their time trying to find Mike together, stop being bitter Will that's your best friend, so why does it feel like he's being shoved to the back of the line like always? Jane comes first after all.

Wills body hadn't even been moving, stood in one spot as Mike started to move forward, stuck, only snapping out of his daze as Mike turned to him to ask Will if he was angry with Mike, this is where Wills nervous tendencies come in, a hand coming up to rub the back of his neck, a shift in eye contact to look at Mike for a split second before looking anywhere else that wasn't him, somewhere in the distance.
