Nothing Worth Staying For

Thinking about how Orson Krennic is one of those Star Wars characters who basically arrives in canon fully assembled.

We know he came from Lexrul. we know he ended up at the Republic Futures Program on Brentaal. we know he grew into the kind of man who would help build the Death Star.

But what happened in between?

So I wrote a fic about it.

It’s about a kid from Sativran City’s Sixth District, where factory accidents are routine, illness is something you learn to live around, and everyone already knows exactly what your future is supposed to be.

It’s about class, resentment, ambition, and the particular kind of person who decides that if the world refuses to value him, he’ll force the galaxy to.

And maybe most of all, it’s about how the cruelest revenge Krennic ever took on the place that raised him wasn’t what he became.

It was forgetting it existed.
