William Sylvester YEAH!!!

I would like to formally introduce myself as the "William Sylvester Digital Archive". The sole purpose of this blog is to remember Sylvester's acting career (1953–1978) and filmography.

William Sylvester played "John the Witch Boy" and I'm more than 100% confident that he is the one portrayed in this poster!

In 1961, William Sylvester played lead role in 13-part BBC radio drama called Shadow on the Sun, the production that had captured Stanley Kubrick's attention when he was shooting Lolita.

And in 1988, Kubrick purchased the rights to Shadow on the Sun with the intentions of making it into a movie, but the project was later dropped when Kubrick dedicated himself to Eyes Wide Shut.

"Sylvester played one of two leads in the BBC radio drama Shadow on the Sun, the production that had caught the director's attention while he was shooting Lolita in 1961." (Making of a Masterpiece by Michael Benson, page 139)

William Sylvester's last major appearance in a movie was in First Family (1980).

But his last technical appearance on television was in the show Quincy, M.E in season 8, episode 23 "Whatever Happened to Morris Perlmutter?" of 1983.
