ugh, so this is an unfortunate first like, personal post, and I don't want it to become part of my persona here or anything lmao but I guess I felt like I needed to vent, since I made this account mostly to post ficlets and drabbles and I've been struggling so much??
I was prescribed 20mg of fluoxetine to treat my severe pmdd, which I'm thankful for because I'd tried to manage it on my own for over a year, but it got to the point I was crying almost all the time and worse during luteal, and it was spilling over into my two "good weeks" as well.
I'm about 3 weeks in, so I'm still in an adjustment period. it's working really well to sort of whoosh away the intense panic and despair I was feeling, and my worst side effect is sleep deprivation (which is killing me, bc I am firmly an 8hr of sleep or everyone suffers girl) and I'm taking melatonin to combat it, which works about 60% of the time and leaves me so sleepy and weak. I'm genuinely unsure if I'm feeling emotional blunting or not, like... I'm relieved to not be crying as much, but I was in the middle of writing a chanlix post-breakup fic, and it's difficult to access those emotions I need for it. I have 2 other wips and a ficlet in progress, and I'm just hhhhhhh *flaps*
