“Do you mind. I’m showering in here.”

“There was nothin’ to warn me before.”

“I’ve never had t’ do anything t’ get a good place t’ sleep. I guess it just comes naturally t’ me.”

“More like you threaten ‘em until they give you a place t’ sleep.”

“Well when you’re as good lookin’ and charmin’ as I am, the offers come floodin’ in.”

“If I ‘av to be charmin’ to these kneelers for somewhere sleep I’ll stick to me tent, we don’t get along.”

“Can I help you?”

“That was– no. Never mind the shinin’ the shoes. I’m sure yer feet smell from ‘em.” Shadr rolls his eyes. “I simply thought y'were starin’. Aren’t we all lost, though, really?”

“Like yours don’t,” Skar scoffed, his dark gaze shifting down to look down at his shoes before turning his attention back to the other. “Aye, down ‘ere at least. Can’t fuckin’ wait to go North again.”

She laughed slightly. “If I was turning blue, I’d probably be dead.” 

“Clearly you’ve never been cold,” messy locks shifted as Skar shook his head, quietly scoffing.

“Depends on the day.”

“You’ve got options? Alright for some, I only get options if I move me tent.”

There’s a pause before his dark eyes survey the being in front of him. “Can I help you with somethin’? Need a shoe shine? Maybe– maybe– ah, I got nothin’. Why y'lookin’, mate?”

“Y’look pretty lost, is all. But you can shine me shoes if you’re feelin’ like it,” he retorted with an arched brow.

“Well I’ve been sayin’ that since the beginnin’.”

“Oh aye? Where is it you stay at night then?”

“Yes, I suppose that’s it,” Elys agreed with a nod, not mentioning that she’d grown up by the sea her entire life and not experienced many nights this cold. The Starks were right, winter was coming. 

“You suppose?” he asked with a curious arch of his brow. “Well what else would it be?”

Mya jumped from her sleep and whipped her head around to the man. “Who the fuck are you?” She yelled as she reached for her ax.

“Relax, will you?” he scoffed, kicking her ax out of the way. “You Southerners aren’t half jumpy.”

“Gods, you scared me, but thank you.” 

“You were turnin’ blue,” he nonchalantly, shrugging off her thanks.

“Well I’ve never seen this side t‘ you before, but I was cold. You keep poppin’ up in random places, it’s makin’ me jumpy.”

“Are you complainin’? We ‘av to look after our own, especially here.”

She had been sitting on a rock outside of he Young Wolf’s camp for hours, keeping an eye open for lurkers in the shadows and all of a sudden she was caught off guard. Dacey jumped slightly at the unfamiliar voice. Her hand touched her weapon but noticing that she had a blanket around her, she removed her hand from the sword. The man couldn’t have been a threat if he had been kind. “Forgive me for jumping, you scared me. I thought you were someone else.” A Lannister or a Bolton sent to kill her. “Thank you for the blanket. May I know your name?”

People South of the wall seemed to be so jumpy, no doubt due to their constant stabbing each other in the back. When the dark haired woman jumped at his sudden appearance Skar stepped away. “You Southerners and names,” it seemed to be all they cared about; who was called what and what family they came from. Apparently names even made them Kings. “My name’s Skarand.”

Elys very nearly rejected the kindness, but thought better of it—after all, she was cold. “Thank you,” she said quietly, “I hadn’t expected it to get so cold this far south.”

Skar took a step back once he placed the blanket around the woman, he’d learnt by now that women south of the wall jumped to conclusions if you stood too close for too long. “It gets cold at night, the sea makes it colder I suppose.”
