“Ouch. Come on, have we not bonded over cursing Microsoft to hell? I was really starting to feel a connection there. Or was that just the Wi-Fi signal fighting for its life?”

To access it, she has to peel back a bit of woodworm-ridden panelling and flick it out with a pen. It clatters to her feet and she almost crushes it underfoot because even though she no longer has the phantom resonance of a gunshot in her veins, it sings to her a song of slaughter.

She laughs, humourlessly, just once, and the gleeful roar of a gallows crowd echoes.

I was thinking too hard about your alt. Fear's Avatar Jon fic, and came to the realisation that if you wiggle timelines around just enough - and make a few canon-adjacent assumptions - Jon could've been in Lukas' super isolation apartment complex well in University.

I now have many ideas, including more alternates, and I may end up writing a fic about it - So, thank you for the insperation, have a lovely day. :]
