you can be the king but watch the queen conquer

Lyra had barely unpacked one bag before she hard started to feel restless. Being away from campus and on a roadtrip had made coming back feel like a drag. She found that she couldn’t sit still for very long, not that she had ever been really good at that to begin with. Sneaking away from the doors and towards one of the closed off areas of the school, Lyra used her powers to get through a fence. Sure it wasn’t really necessary, but the thrill of it made her heart race and she had missed that feeling already. Hearing the voice from behind her, Lyra spun around quickly. “Oh hey there. Long time no see.”

Despite the pleasantries that the woman was trying to give her, Sonya had a specific job, and her being in there wasn’t good. ”I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” She said, not at all looking amused with the woman in the room.  

she had been at the school less than twenty four hours and already was being questioned. her luck, right? the woman bit back a sigh and rolled her eyes, sipping from the water bottle she had brought with her as she eyed the blonde down. she had been coming back from a workout when— well. you get the picture. “yeah, pretty sure i am. teacher title gives me that privilege last i checked.”

Sonya narrowed her eyes at the woman. “I’ve been told to keep students out of this section. I was simply doing my job.” She told the sweaty woman. “Excuse me.”

“uh, i wasn’t intentionally trespassing, if that’s what you mean?” stella shrugged. she’d grown up around SHIELD, the daughter of one of the highest people on SHIELD’s command chain, and eventually an agent herself. after that, she’d lived outside of the law, guided by someone she’d thought she could trust. she’d been known to forget that there were places where she wasn’t allowed free reign, and this seemed to be one of them. “am i not supposed to be back here? i was looking for my cousin’s cat.”

“This area is closed off for staff only until the school fully re-opens.” It sounded a lot worse than it was, but the heads of school just wanted to keep everyone in one spot in order to transition them peacefully. “I ask you kindly to leave.”

“no not really” he simply shrugged at the older blonde. “but i am looking for a familiar face. actually any familiar face. been on campus for a couple of hours and i’m already bored out of my mind, so i figured i could find someone to talk to so i can be less bored out of my mind”

“All of your fellow students are back in the residence halls moving in.” Sonya explained. “If you are looking for a familiar face, there should be hundreds back there.”

Natasha had spent most of her time on breaking bouncing between missions. She had spent some time with her family, but for most of the time SHIELD had wanted her in missions.

“I am. I’m looking to make sure that no student has been back here while we were away.”

“Izvinite, Natasha.” Sonya said, bowing her head a little to show respect. “I mistook you for one of the students.” The blonde brushed her hair back and looked around. “I checked earlier, everything is the same.”

Shelby didn’t have the most interesting break. She had spent most of her times with her siblings. Now that she was back in the school she decided to explore while students were still arriving. 

“Yep, the door was open so I take that as a yes.”

“This is for staff only.” Sonya said, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall. By my guess, you are a student. You should be back in the main hall.”
