The World According to Brad

After my last blog I eagerly awaited a "colorful" response... but all I got was a half-ass rebut from Gene Ross. On the other hand, maybe this was a good thing. As I thought about it, I realized there are very few people as universally loathed as Gene Ross, and he is kinda the reason Rob Black has a platform. So perhaps he was due for a quick letter as well. He certainly seemed to be asking for one... So here goes.

For those of you who don't know who Gene Ross is, he's the guy slithering behind the keyboard of AdultFYI. He's the guy that for a decade or so has been "attacking" Talent, Directors, Agents and anyone else he set his sites on in the Adult Industry. And for the record very few people really like him.

Today I saw his lame "attack" (as he likes to call it) on myself. He was "correcting' me on some of the points in my letter to "The President", most notable the mistaken identity of the author of the FYI article I was referring to. I admit I didn't read the FYI article. The fact is, like most of you, I usually NEVER go to Adult FYI. I just hear the stories 2nd hand, like I did this one. The person I heard it from just assumed it was Rob Black spouting off again.

But I can certainly see the confusion, Rob Black and Gene Ross are almost as one, it's understandably hard to tell their rants apart. I recently heard them referred to as Rob Ross & Gene Black lol.

That being said, my apologies for not reading the article before commenting on it. But the truth remains that Rob had it coming. And judging by the texts/tweets/DMs I received after my blog was published, my observations were spot on. 

Now that we have that settled let's get back to Gene's article and his "attempt" at my character assassination. He goes on to say I was Erica Boyer's boy toy, a sissy boy, and Jenna's interior decorator. I'm guessing this is his weak way of inferring I'm gay? I thought this strange coming from a man I've never seen in public with a woman, never mind ever hearing of a "girlfriend", but moving right along.

This is all he could come up with... really??? Please go back and start listening to Rob's radio show. At least he has some game when it comes to bashing people. Where's the Gene Ross we've all came to know and hate??? No wonder he brought Rob on to help him... He needs Rob to do his heavy lifting now. He needs Rob to help maintain what little relevance he and FYI may still have. Perhaps his skills went the way of his hair... it just disappeared.

Which of coarse brings me to the "pay back". Gene had to know that after poking me with a stick with his walk down memory lane I'd surely do a little reminiscing of my own. 

I somehow don't remember Gene from that first convention he mentioned, apparently he didn't leave much of an impression. But my first recollection of him is UNFORGETTABLE. It was when he worked for Paul at AVN. He was like 3rd or 4th man on the totem pole, and I had a meeting with him about some photography they were buying. All I remember was this overly-quaffed dude, who would put Donald Trump to shame in the "Bad Hair Hall of Fame". It was like he just left Harry's House of Discount Hair. This guy had so much hairspray holding that shit up that he shoulda had a fire extinguisher sitting on his desk.

I sat in his office listen to this pompous ass drone on. I was actually in fear for my life, preying his head didn't spontaneously combust. As I tried to remember which was worse, a 1st degree burn or a 3rd degree burn, I had the misfortune of looking down at his mouth as it continued to flap. My eyes grew wide as I was mesmerized by his hair-matching, freshly groomed goatie. It was actually more of a beard that had fallen just short of the mark. The kind of overgrown furry mass that looks like it came right out of the Blue Oyster Bar & Grill (For you younger folks that the Gay Biker Bar in the 1st Police Academy movie). It was AMAZING!!! Between the the hair and the beard thingy, it was like this muther fucker was auditioning for a part in the LION KING!!!

I sat through the rest of the meeting, shook his hand, grabbed my check, and ran. All I could think of as I walked out of his office was what an incredible douche he was.

Anyway, through the years Gene lost his AVN gig, lost his hair, lost what little dignity he'd ever had, and ended up in the purgatory known as Adult FYI. Not quite in the adult business and not quite in the real world... mostly cause no one would hire him. So he started a site for the sole purpose of lashing out at people, and pretending that he was the one "true voice" of the porn, and he would unveil all the wrong-doers in the business... Sound familiar?

That's right, Rob Black is just Gene Ross 2.0. A better, more boisterous, not as well groomed version, but none the less "same-same". So now the Dynamic Duo of Disaster Rob & Gene have teamed up to spread the gospel... I mean gossip... about all that is wrong with the industry.

Ok, enough making fun of Gene Ross... let's get back to important stuff. The fact is even if you guys do have SOME valid points... even if we should be wearing condoms... even if tests should be better or cheaper... even if things could be "PERFECT"... You two aren't the guys who are going to make it happen. You're too misguided, too crazy, too inflammatory, too douchey, too well... Gene Ross & Rob Black.

I agree the industry should have a voice... a better voice. But right now I don't  know who that voice should be... I know it's not me, and I definitely know it's neither of you two. Hopefully that voice will come along... but my guess is when it does, you'll both piss and moan about it too.

Gene, seeing as it was you who wrote the original article that said "charity begins at home" and then went on to complain that myself and the others at Wicked weren't paying enough attention to Cameron and the other newly diagnosed performers, I'll make you the same offer I made to Rob. Normally, I wouldn't bother wasting my time dignifying Rob Black by responding to his ramblings, but today I find myself thinking, "someone really needs to tell him to STOP TALKING!!!" He not only embarrasses himself, but embarrasses the adult industry as a whole. Now most of the industry who know Rob and his "colorful" history in the business just shake their heads , chuckle and move on with their day. For the rest of you who have just recently come across Rob and his ridiculous rants... You should probably do the same. There's nothing to see here but the train wreck that is ROB BLACK. Before I continue PLEASE know that this letter should in NO WAY be taken as any form of validation for Rob Black, his opinions, or his behavior on this or any other topic.  It's well known that Rob throws all kinds of shit at the wall to see what sticks, hoping someone will bite, and hopefully give him some form of credibility... Or at least drive some traffic his way. So I apologize now for biting... And he's “welcome” for any additional hits this response might bring. - The other day Mr. Black went off about how jessica drake, Asa Akira, Samantha Saint, myself & a number of other caring adult performers and industry workers were in some way wrong, thoughtless, or short sighted for supporting Aids Walk LA and not supporting the talent that have recently contracted HIV. This is absolutely AMAZING to me!!! Team Wicked has participated in Aids Walk LA for the last 3 yrs. Our involvement in this years’ Aids walk was planned long before the recent cases of HIV were diagnosed, so it has no bearing on our involvement in the event and we will of course continue our pledge to help. Our donations are more important than ever, because now the disease affects us even closer to home. Furthermore, these donations go towards helping a number of agencies whose sole purpose is to help those with HIV in the Los Angeles area. That being said, some of these donations could, in fact, go towards helping the very people Rob has accused us of turning our backs on. Hopefully the newly infected people will be able to seek these agencies out and receive treatment/assistance. If not, we'd be happy to try and facilitate a path through the great people we've met at Aids Walk LA  and make that happen. But if that's still not enough to shut Mr. Black up, I'd be happy to donate to a fund for Cameron Bay, Rod Daily and the 3rd yet to be named patient. Rob said he's a believer in "charity begins at home"... Well, here's his chance to put his money where his mouth is. As of today, (Sept. 11th) I'll match dollar for dollar whatever he personally wants to donate to the fund... But in return, I beg him to please just shut up. In closing, Rob Black has somehow voted himself "President & Protector" of the industry... I'm quite sure if there were such a position he wouldn't get nominated... never mind elected.  The truth of the matter is that Rob Black continues to preach the use of condoms… and I'm all for it... but in this case, it's basically like an arsonist going door-to-door selling fire extinguishers... it just doesn’t work. It’s not his place. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt Rob Black has ever used a condom in ANY of his movies... except for perhaps filling them with fake blood, or urine, or whatever else his warped imagination brought forth that day on set, and then proceeded to throw them at his poor female talent.  You see, for those who've never had the "joy" of witnessing a movie directed by Rob Black, just know that most of you would consider them vile & disturbing... and that's putting it mildly. He was also the kind of director who probably would have continued shooting through the moratorium without a 2nd thought for his talent’s safety.  For him to come back into an industry (that has long since forgotten about him) and try to portray himself as some "long lost savior" that's going to guide us to the promised land and save us... is simply ridiculous.

And those are MY thoughts over my 2nd cup of coffee... To Rob… lemme know how much you decide to donate. We'll take the checks down to the bank together and get the talent the help they need. ps... I blame all the reviewers out there who put Rob Black on a pedestal back in the day. You showered him with awards and accolades for his poor behavior, and now it’s come back to haunt us. You made this monster... shame on you. And shame on you too, Rob Black.
