Random witch idea...
I could make/find a snowglobe with a house inside (that looks like my house). Then I could enchant it as a ward for my home. The globe itself is symbolic for the protective "bubble" around the home. And the tiny home is surrounded by water (cleansing) and "snow" (purity/cleansing), so I could enchant it so that every time I shake the globe, it cleanses my home and hearth. đ¤
Small Things To Contact Spirits About
âŚIf you want to flex your communication muscles but donât want to be cutting deals or making things complicated for now. Just little things to try.
Let me hear a love story
Show me a song from your people
Tell me something you did today that you are proud of
Let me draw a portrait of you
Tell me a little about your culture
Ask me any questions you may have about human culture (and I will answer them, if I can.)
Look at this song/story/poem I wrote, tell me what you think.
Tell me my local reputation, if I have one.
Tell me your story (and if desired, I will record it and pass it on for more to see.)
Share a joke.
Let me admire your beauty/grace/powerful appearance/plumage/scales/wings/great personality
Tell me about your friends
What is your one big token of advice?
Teach me how to make my home more welcoming for you (while still being safe for me.)
A spread based on how your being is doing, how to learn more self-love, and what your heart wants you to know! I would suggest using this spread when you really need your heartâs advice.

Empaths: You can recharge your energy by holding two quartz crystal points. Have one in your left hand with the point facing you. The one in your right hand should be facing away from you. This will create an energy circuit that brings good energy in and gets rid of bad energy.

Think of the witchy potential! you could make an ice bowl and fill it with herbs and/or flowers and/or stones to meet a specific purpose, and then fill it with water as a scrying bowl, or use it as an offering bowl, or as a spell! Iâm so excited to do this!
The possibilities are endless for this!
ps if u boil the water first it wonât be all foggy!!!
This would be great for leaving offerings out in nature. You can still put them in a bowl, without littering. I think Iâll use it for making a midsummer offering at the river. Iâve been trying to work out what I can put offerings in that will float without littering.Â
Sweet mother of milk cows, I want to make an offering in one of these.

Spirit work: Questions to ask your spirit guides
When you begin to communicate with your spirit guides you may want to go through the process of asking them specific questions that they will be able to answer that will allow you to do have some form of dialogue. This list is meant to help with that by providing you with certain questions that you may want to ask. This is by no means an all encompassing list, and it is simply a few questions that I found interesting that you may want to ask them. When you go through the process of asking these questions you want to do it in a very clear, and precise way, while being open to whatever answer comes to you.
What is your name?
when did we first meet?
How long have you been with me?
Are you a lifetime guide or are you here to guide me through a particular lesson?
what type of entity are you?
What form are you most comfortable in?
do you have any advice for me?
have you ever been an incarnated entity?
Did we share any past lives together?
What lesson are you here to help me learn?
How can we deepen our connection?
What is your âsignâ to let me know youâre around?
What can you tell me that will help me on my path?
can meet you show me a sign in my Waking Life?
What is your gender identity?
Have you ever helped me? If so, how?
How many spirit guides do I have?
Have we ever reversed rules where I was your spirit guide while you lived on the Earth plane?
Have you always been in my life in this incarnation?

Daily Magical Practice
This is simply a list of things that I do daily to keep myself in magical shape and keep me feeling witchy. From the time I wake up, to the time I go to bed, this is the routine I try hard to stick to. I figured maybe writing this could keep me motivated to stick to this schedule, and maybe inspire other practitioners as well!
Dream Journal: I have a dream journal that I keep by my bedside. In the morning, Â as soon as I wake up, I try to recall as much of my dreams as possible. Without trying to interpret anything, I write down everything I can possibly remember. Then, as I go through the day, I think about the symbolism and what it means to me, to see if I can find any messages.Â
Daily Devotion: Before getting ready for the day, I sit at my altar, lighting the center candle, and meditating until I feel calm and centered. I then speak my daily devotion, a chant I wrote to encompass my goals of inner peace and personal progress.Â
Tarot Reading: Depending on the day (whether or not I have to get up earlier because of my wonky work schedule) I do a one to three card tarot reading to give me insight about the day. This also helps me memorize the meanings of cards as I can think on the card symbols throughout the day.Â
Choose a Crystal: I sit with my crystals for a few moments, and see which one (or sometimes two) call to me that morning. I then charge and pocket them to let them assist me while Iâm out.
Oils!: I use oils for everything, and though I do tend to mix it up for baths and rituals, there are two that I use daily. Every morning I tab a bit of Lavender essential oil on a lava bead diffuser bracelet (sent to me by the wonderful @mumblesandthings!), and set its intent for calmness and peace throughout the day. I then dab myself with a bit of my own Flying Devil Oil, usually on the forehead and back of the neck for general protection, and on my feet for safe travel while Iâm driving from client to client.
Apartment Warding: I have a good set of wards around my place that I typically re-cast every month, but the one that I perform daily is a simple command when I lock my front door. A Cthulhu charm that hangs from the knocker, one that blends nicely with the doorâs brass, but has a very noticeable eye button in its center. The charm is enchanted to keep away invaders and negative entities, but I charge it daily with a simple verbal command to protect my place and scare away any baddies.Â
Driving Protection: I only started this recently, after having one too many mishaps with my car. While driving literally anywhere, I repeat my own chant for protection and shielding of my car, imagining a bright shield around it, protecting it from both accidents and, if Iâm honest, cops. I also keep a tigerâs eye and a malachite in my car with me for an extra bit of safety.
Aura Protection: When Iâm feeling unsafe or just generally down in the dumps, I shield myself using a technique in which I imagine my aura hardening and glowing as a protective, magical shield.Â
Meditation: Usually when I get home, I try to meditate on my bed for at least fifteen minutes. Depending on the day it ranges from a simple grounding and centering, to third eye exercises, to awareness and listening for messages from my Gods and spirit guides.Â
Spirit/Thoughtform Work: This is still something I am trying to get better at. I have a spirit companion vessel that I keep with me at all times. It hangs on a necklace that is simple enough to wear with any outfit. My companion pops in and out throughout the day, and I speak to her commonly when I feel her presence. I also work with my thoughtform who, though he is sentient, pops in to check on me often.Â
Nature Offering: This mostly consists of me feeding the birds by filling their feeder with food daily, and whispering a short prayer to the nature spirits that may be around my home.Â
Tea Spells!: I have tea daily. When I say âdailyâ I mean all the time, all day. If I know whatâs in my tea, and especially if Iâm making my own herbal tea, I enchant it with whatever intent I feel I may need the most that day. I mostly focus on this in the evening once Iâm home and calmed down from work.
Shower Magick: So, because Iâm a dog walker, I make a point to take my showers/baths in the evening when I can wash all the sweat/dog slobber off. When I shower, I like to do a simply daily cleanse that involves my own salt and herbal scrub. Scrubbing the mixture in and then imagining the water rinsing the negative energy from my body and aura and down the shower drain is incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating.Â
Offerings: This is more of a spiritual practice, and is one that Iâm still trying to remember to do more often, but as someone who works with Anubis and Bast, I try to make small offerings to them daily. Most of the time this is fresh water from my water filter, but I also like to throw in fruit and chocolate and other cute things I think they may like. Usually I do this an hour or so before bed.Â
Burn Cleansing/Protective Incense: This is the one thing I know I do daily because I enjoy it so much. I make my own blend of frankincense, sandalwood, and myrrh resins that I burn to keep the apartment cleansed and safe while Iâm home. It works wonders.Â
Random Practice Time!: On days when I do not have a lot of homework or am free from plans, I enjoy doing random activities that call to me. This ranges from divination with my tarot decks and rune sets, using my Ouija board, talking with my spirit companion or thoughtform, doing needed spells and rituals, making oils and incense, writing down long term notes in my grimoire, and reading any of the witchy books Iâm fighting to get through (college makes reading a chore).
Nightly Dream Journalling: Each night before I go to sleep, I write another entry in my dream journal. Most of the time it is a simple request to my guides, what helpful things I would like to dream about that night, and a written spell of protection from nightmares. Sometimes this does not work perfectly, but I will say that a few months ago I was suffering from awful nightmares. Since I have begun doing this, they have lessened incredibly, and my dreams have become more interesting and insightful.Â
Thatâs that! I do most of this on a daily basis, though Iâm still trying to work on remembering some of it. There are other things I do weekly, such as cleansing my apartment and doing full ritual worship, but these are the things I try to be more consistent with. Add your own if you like!
How to Tell If Youâve Been Cursed
Being cursed is one of the the most fearful things for a practitioner or superstitious person. Iâll be honest with you: Iâm pro-curse and Iâve been cursed in the past at least a dozen times. Itâs a thing, it has a history, and people kind of need to get over hating on those people who do decide to curse.
I am passionate about education. And I feel that even if youâre not going to curse someone ever you still need to know how curses work so you can create effective protections. Knowing how you can be hurt is one of the best ways to prevent being hurt, after all.
Plus, even if youâre not going to curse someone that doesnât mean someone else wonât curse you. Itâs a two way street after all.
What is a curse?
A curse is a prayer, utterance, or spell with the intent to cause harm, trouble, or ill luck to befall another. The word hex has an Pennsylvania origin, from what I can tell, and it meant from meaning simply âwitchâ or âto practice witchcraftâ to âto cast a spell onâ and now it has a darker meaning. That probably comes from the ill-reputation that magic workers had for a long time, if I had to hazard a guess. I personally define hex as a short-term spell meant to cause mischief and trouble. Like a casual curse or minor vengeance. But it is regional speech so youâre probably better off just using the word curse and calling it a day.
So what are the symptoms of a curse?
Curses can be really casual such as spilling coffee on yourself. An extreme example would be someone who spills coffee on themselves, has a car break down, has the tow truck driver drop the tow bar ON THE CAR crushing it, is late for work, finds out theyâre being laid off, and has a lover break up with them on the same day.
Other things to look for:
Nightmares
Trouble sleeping
Loss of energy (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and so on)
Sudden legal troubles
Sudden relationship troubles
Sudden medical issues
Sudden financial issues
Random pain and aches
Scattered mind and unable to gather your thoughts, confusion, disorientation
Bad luck
Generally, itâs a culmination of several of these things at once. Please, please, please, check with doctors when youâre feeling aches, pain, or medical issues. Whether something medical is induce via a curse doesnât mean that the curse breaking will actually REMOVE those issues. Same goes for any other issues that crop up. Youâll still have to deal with that shit. Removing the curse or hex means that nothing additional should crop up (beyond the normal âshit happens, thatâs lifeâ kind of deal)
How to tell if youâre cursed
The above symptoms should occur consistently and suddenly. They are persistent. You donât ever catch a break. There are curses that last years and years but they are very rare. Most end up fading out over time. By and large, you can counter a curse simply by changing your lifestyle or behavior (but not always).
Iâm going to be honest. There are some curses or hexes that wonât register because theyâve been designed to avoid detection. If you think this might be the case, simply move onto hex breaking and curse removal methods, followed by cleansing and protection.
However, there are some methods to determine if youâve been cursed. Divination is the easiest way to go about it. Tarot cards, oracle cards, pendulums â you pick whatever method works best for you.
For a deity and/or spirit workers, I would ask for a sign of some kind within the next three days to confirm that thereâs a curse. And then pray for help with the removal.
If youâre unsure still or want to be extra sure, just skip right onto the curse breaking and hex removing methods. Remember, donât panic. You are your own worse enemy when you panic. (I know thatâs nearly impossible for some folks with paranoia or anxiety but itâs something to keep in mind)
How much do I have to worry about curses? Really?
You probably arenât cursed. Itâs just bad luck which happens to everyone. If youâre not a practitioner, then itâs even more likely that youâre not cursed. Sometimes bad shit just happens. But, when you deal with other practitioners, donât be surprised to find that youâve annoyed one of them and they fired back at you. Iâm not saying that curses or hexes never happen, they absolutely do, but theyâre not super common either.
But if you want to take some preventative measures, it canât hurt either, right?

herbal preparation types
TEA â To consume. Steep herbs, flowers, or roots in hot water. Vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants found in herbal teas provide many short and long-term health benefits. Used for colds, immune system, digestive system, inflammation, anti-aging, stress, anxiety, or skin health, among other treatments.
TINCTURE â To consume. Herbs that have been stepped in alcohol or vinegar in process of extraction, creating a concentrated liquid form of a herb. Preserve and concentrate the properties of the herb, making them more effective and longer lasting. Fill glass jar with dried herbs. Filling half full will make a stronger (donât pack down.) Pour boiling water to just dampen all of the herbs. Fill the rest of the jar with vodka and stir. Store the jar in a cool/dry place, shaking daily, for at least three weeks and up to six months. Strain and store in blue or amber dropper bottles (or clean glass jars.) Take 2-3 drops daily.
POULTICE â Topical application. Moistened herbs formed and patted down over area where needed (like herbal band-aid). Place whole or powdered herbs in a bowl and add hot water to stick together. Apply topically and use medical gauze to hold in place. Good for: stings, bites, wounds, broken bones, infection, boils, in-grown issues, acne, or anything that needs to be drawn from the skin.
FOMENTATION â Topical application. Strong steep infusion of herbs (typically stronger than what you would drink). Infuse, strain, and soak cloth in infusion, applying to area where needed. Useful for wrapping a body part or treating large area.
TOPICAL WASH â Topical application. Similar to fomentations, but instead infuse herbs and strain then soak affected body part in the infusion. Direct contact allows herbs to penetrate in unique way.Â
HERBAL OIL â Topical application. Herbs are âbakedâ in base oil such as: olive, sweet almond, apricot, jojoba, avocado, grape seed, or hemp. Can use fresh or dried plant material and sun or Oven as heat source. Heat extracts the oil soluble healing components of the herbs to create the healing oil. Herbal oil often used to make other products such as salves, lotions, or creams but can be used on their own.
SALVE â Topical application. Treatment with the consistency of a balm or ointment. Made by adding beeswax to a herbal oil until desired consistency. Used to sooth skin after a burn, bite, sting, abrasion, or other surface problems.Â
