In my resignation I stated that I would not be going on a campaign against the organization and this is not to be taken as such. Nor is it to be taken as slander, mostly because it is the truth.

I want to make one thing clear about why I left - although there were multiple factors - because I think it’s best for people to know for their own safety. One of Hellenion’s biggest draws for members is their education programs. I recently attempted to enroll in their clergy ed program after working with the organization in various positions for three years, including being the Secretary.

I want people to know that if the education programs are the reason you intend to join Hellenion and you are at all mentally ill or neurodivergent, it is my suggestion that you either do not join or that you do not let them know that you are. They will discuss it as part of the decision on whether or not to let you take the clergy ed course.

This was one of the main reasons I left. I do not abide ableism and I will not stay somewhere where I am not seen as an equal due to my mental health. I will say that most of the board called the ableism out (and have now resigned) but the people with the most power were the ones who perpetrated it. So, I did not feel comfortable enough to stay.
