"But I have so many questions!" Brief was currently writing enough notes that his pencil had begun to cause smoke to rise from the papers. "Like how does weather effect you, can you see in the dark, why aren't you trying to haunt people or fulfill some form of unfinished business?"
Ughhh! These were the worst kinds of humans to encounter; the curious ones. Why can't they just see a terrifying ghoul and be scared for their lives instead? But that's when a thought crosses her mind. Just how desperate was he for answers? Spectra's attitude couldn't help but shift ever so slightly as an idea formed in her head. A small smirk spread across her lips as she folded her arms.
"Well, I suppose if you did a thing or two for me I could answer a question." She'll just casually leave out the fact the answer would very much be a lie.
"A thing or two?" Brief tended to be a bit carried away by cute girls and the supernatural, but even he was aware enough to know that making deals ended up with the person being fausted more often then not. That being said, if it wasn't anything horrible he could at least give it a try. "I guess if its not something horrible then I could give it a try."

Brief had expected to find a low level ghost when he left his house and decided to check out an abandoned mall, the kind of thing that he could easily capture with the traps he had developed from years of watching the sisters take out ghosts and the various research notes he had managed to steal from the mayor after he had thrown away all subtly and tried to destroy the world. Instead what he got was a amalgamation of 90's toys and tech fused in the vague shape of a human, launching unlicensed consoles and radio controlled helicopters like heat seeking missile. "Can't target the spirit form through the junk, just have to keep running until I get a chance," he narrowly dodged around the corner, feeling the breeze of a massive plasma screen. "What I would give for a badass woman with a gun right now!" @pinklocksoflove
While Iggy had been delving into this mall for something in particular, along with savlvaging anything she might find useful from the old electronics store she heard a commotion and decided to poke her head out. Fascinating! This toy monstrosity was exhibiting clear predatory behaviors. She'll have to take notes later as someone seemed to be in trouble. Quickly drawing her laser pistol she sets it for max power and takes a few aimed shots. The heat of the beam hot enough to blow holes through most body armor.
"Hey ugly! Why don't you pick on someone who can fight back?!"
The monster paused as the laser shots melted away at its armor, melted plastic and cheap metal creating toxic fumes as the heat of the blast burned into it. Seeing a threat rather then prey the creature turned toward her, metal jaws stretching open. "Not chill dudette, Ima have to do you like Diana for that!" the creature lumbered forward, only to get nailed in the back by a fire extinguisher which burst open, cover its sight with foam. "Thank god," Brief ran over to Iggy, figuring an unfamiliar girl with a laser gun was probably still less threatening then a giant monster running on 90's nostalgia and hatred of all things alive. "Appreciate the assist, its junk armor is a bit more then I can deal with."
Despite his well maintained facade Brief hated the flash of cameras and the tabloids trying to find their next scoop, forcing himself to maintain a smile that looked just real enough that he wouldn't have the board crawling up his ass the next time he wanted to put some money aside for his actual projects. "Yes, Rune, the woman who could take on an army and come out on top." he had read her file, what little there was for public consumption anyway. "You're probably wasted protecting a guy like me, but I appreciate your services." He considered her question for a moment. "Well there is an open bar, food to fancy to actually taste good, dancing with people who don't have any light in their eyes. And if we are lucky someone will try and kill me and we can leave early." Brief never bothered to learn to hide his feelings on the matter of other rich people, finding them either dull or dangerous as snakes. When they entered the main room the opulence on display was staggering, from the glimmering lights to the artwork that had been hung up. Brief took a flute of champagne from a passing server as they walked into the room. "Best advice is to talk in circles and say nothing, the people here are probably more dangerous then any assassin."
Rune shook her head. "You think too highly of me. The higher ups just point me where to go" Though with being the daughter of the head of a private corporation, you'd think she'd have a higher standing than an errand girl.
An open bar sounded nice. She wasn't supposed to drink on the job, but who was going to stop her. Not lilke she was looking to get wrecked. But what really caught her attention was his mention of an assassin. Maybe they'll get along well. "Eager for some excitement? I've been to my share of these. And I must admit, they're much better with some drama" Rune smiled.
She took a second to take in the sights. Then she was back on guard. The decor was intricate. Everyone was dressed so nice. Rune eyed the fits of they're clothes. It's hard to tell just by looking, but Rune keeps at least 12 small knives on her at most times. Even in a tight dress like this one.
"Do you know anyone here?"
"I feel more comfortable in something that allows me to run and dodge and carry enough tricks that I have the edge," Brief patted down his suit and jacket, making a show off the fact that he could barely hold a wallet, much less anything of use. "I'd rather face down something that is honest about wanting me dead then I am dealing with people who would just as well rob me blind as shake my hand." He glanced at the party, seeking out shapes in the crowd before giving a shrug. "I know of most of these people, but honestly I know them more by them trying to get favors out of me then actual people. Not a lot of friends to be made, at least not real ones." his voice was sad for a moment, before he fit a smile back on. "Anyway, we should enjoy some foo-" before he could even suggest some relaxation the hiss of multiple smoke grenades roared over the conversation, filling the area with thick black smoke and the shouts of at least four men in full tactical gear. "Get the Rocks brat and evac!" Brief went low, pulling out a handkerchief and covering his mouth, this wasn't the first time someone had tried to kidnap him, but this was the most blatant.

Stress Drinking (Open)
As a rule Brief didn't let himself get drunk all that often, mainly because he was a shit drunk and most alcohol tasted like shit. But some days a drink was about the only thing that could make it better, so he sat at the bar and ordered himself another whiskey with a large ice cube in the center, staring at the amber liquid. Another day of being tossed around, barely surviving, and striking out. He was mostly used to it, but there were days that it all got to him. "To weekday drinking," he raised a toast to himself and sipped at the whiskey, feeling the cool burn down his throat.
There were few things that Brief hated more then gala's, having to pretend to care about the 'issues' of people who had never run screaming from someone or something trying to rip them apart. But his experiments were funded by the family legacy and all that was asked of him as CEO was to show up dressed in an outfit that cost too much and look like he cared about stock prices for a few hours.
However tonight's party also carried a threat against his life, which was at least more interesting then the usual threat of falling asleep from boredom. The board had even gone so far as to provide him a bodyguard, someone well known for getting the job done. That she was also apparently a pretty girl that would be able to get the usual line of women trying to get him to go out was also a win.
When the door opened Rune would find Brief with a kind smile and outstretched hand, orange hair carefully pulled back so his eyes were visible and gleaming in the light. "Glad you made it, hope the ride was to your liking?"
"It was lovely. Thank you" Rune stepped out and took his hand. Flashes from pictures being taken were going off in every direction. She knew these galas were a big deal. But he seemed so young to garner so much attention. And to be so important someone would want him dead. Though it intrigued her, she would stay professional. As professional as clinging to your client's arm can get.
Rune wrapped her hand around his arm as they walked into the venue. "I'm sure they told you my name.. They gave me yours, Briefers" She said. "I've never attended this particular gala. What is there to do? I'll follow your lead" Her heels clicked on the hard floor. She wasn't used to wearing them. But she kept up just fine thanks to the days of practice last week.
She tried to keep her eyes forward. SHe didn't want to look like her head was on a swivel. But she kept a close watch on what was going on around them. And who got within her range. Most of these people probably weren't threats. But she still had to be on guard.
