Oh dear.
The learning curve was steep, and Susan made a metal note to check herself; 'Monster' felt like whole new territory, but there was a charm to the child-like, onery threat. If this entity had found herself within the office space of the Bureau then she was meant to be here. One way or another. The Agent decided to play along, and gave a placating smile as she feigned defeat:
"Ah, my stapler..." Susan bemoaned, shoulders drooping. "I suppose that explains where my very special, limited edition note book went too. It had all my field notes."
Was it truly missing? Yes.
Did she want to give the girl a chance to claim ownership of the tragedy for her own ego boost? Also yes.
There's a tilt of her head in response. Huh? What was the other person doing? Limited edition note book? What...? A hand scratched at her chin as she just kind of stared with confusion.
Was...was this lady trying to boost her ego right now? Oh. Oh! That's what this totally was! She didn't regard her as an actual threat! Grey eyes soon narrowed as her fists clenched. It's on now.
Eyes trailed to a stack of papers and whisked her hand forward to make them spread everywhere. Drawers flung outward and the items thrown about in whatever manner she wanted. If this lady wanted to give her credit then it would be for the absolute mess she'd leave this place in!
Look out! Here comes a pair of floating open scissors!
No doubt that Draculaura was talking about the Gems. It was hard to not notice them, as colorful as they were. That always seemed to be the first thing tourists noticed. There had even been speculation that Gems were the reason some of them had come to visit. Spinel wasn't sure how to feel about this. Sure, tourism was good for the town. And while she didn't mind curiosity, she didn't like the idea of being ogled like a zoo animal. It was an entirely different thing.
"Well, it's a long story, but the non-human people you see around are Gems. We're...aliens, basically. The reason you don't see Gems elsewhere is that most Gems have made this their safe place. I guess some could choose to leave and explore, but none have done so yet."
One question was burning on her lips. She hesitated for a moment, but given the topic, this seemed okay to ask.
"Say...you're not human either, are you?"
"Really?" Ears perked up in response to that though a part of her wasn't too surprised. Monsters had already long since understood other dimensional travel so the concept of aliens from another planet being out there wasn't too much of a no-brainer. It was just a matter of when it would be encountered instead of if.
"This must've been recent then. I feel like I would've heard about it sooner." Then again, the monster world could be pretty shut at times. Draculaura nods her head to the question as a hand presses against her chest.
"I am a monster. A vampire to be more exact!" Hands soon come up. "I come in peace, I assure you. I'm a vegetarian now so I have no interest in your townsfolk....unless it's for a friendly chat together." The vampire smiled. "Us monsters are a lot more...secluded."
"I typically usse sstealth, and using shadowss to get around faster. Except, the shadow magic can be draining and I can't overshoot ussing too large in amountss." Soldan had painful burnouts, that would last for a few hours until fully completed and out of her system. Took a day to recover, or half day. "Unless! We can can find a disstraction for the dog, like...maybe a toy to chew on?"
"Let's not push our luck." Especially now that she knows that if her friend uses too much of said magic that it runs the risk of burnout.
"We'll just ignore that house for now. Besides, the two stashes we get from the other two houses will be more than enough! Heh heh heh." The ghoul takes a moment to crack her knuckles before peering down towards the red house. That one will do first.
"You ready?"
Send 🧬 + a question (or DNA + ) to ask my muse about their species!

"What do you have there?"
"I can't reach it! Give me a hand, would you?"
"I told you this was a horrible idea!"
"Thanks for helping me out with that. I couldn't have done it by myself."
"Don't worry! I already got us the tickets! See?"
"I'm really craving a sundae right now. Let's stop by that shop."
"I'm not saying it was my fault, but it might have been my fault."
"If we pick up the pace then we can still make it! Hurry!"
"Sorry. I stopped paying attention about halfway. That bug over there really grabbed me."
"Did you miss me? Come on, tell me the truth!"
"I'm feeling chaotic today. Let's go do something morally questionable!"
"So, what do we do now?"
"I feel like all of this could have been avoided had we just put a little bit more thought into this."
"Everything is ready! I can't believe we managed to do this. I really thought we'd mess this all up somehow."
"Can I touch it?"
"Shall we play a game of Truth or Dare?"
"I know you didn't do this. We'll figure this out together."
"I hope I can see you again soon. I enjoy your company."
"So, I got you a present. Just felt like buying you something."
"Hey, want to check out that new place that just opened up?"
"Woah! Come over here! You've got to check this out!"
"I'll be honest even though I'm nodding my head I still don't understand what was asked of me."
"You can be so annoying sometimes!"
"This is too painful to watch. Tell me when it's over, okay?"

Book put away, knowing where she left off. "Good findss out there, Spectra! I'd suggest avoiding the yellow building, may be a little rissky to go in there. I'd go for the green, then follow up to the red." Soldan was fairly good with planning, once getting details and location. "The yellow one, may be a little more challenging. What kind of animal do they have?"
"Thanks. It's what I do best." Being an intangible being allowed for Spectra to do expert spy and infiltration with most not even knowing of her presence unless she allowed it. The ghoul nods in agreement to the idea.
"It's some kind of dog. Not really that big but if it can smell us then it'll probably alert the owners. We probably wanna stay clear of that house."
"Huh, wonderlandian doors…?" He supposed it did make sense that they were from Wonderland - hence the name, but where the heck was Wonderland…?! "Is that, uh, far from here…?"
"Oh, awesome!" Seeing her move to grab her wallet, Ryuji couldn't help but lean in to get a better look - now completely intrigued! "Man, you've got a real amazing collection of hats there! Is it pretty hard deciding on what hat you're gonna wear for the day then…?"
"I can definitely show you around - and some candy sounds pretty fantastic too! How about a book store to kick things off...?!"
"Well, yes and no! Wonderland's alllll the way off in the storybook realm but with the right door you can enter into it! It's as far away and as close as it needs to be which is just right!"
The comment gets a laugh out of Maddie before shaking her head. "Oh, no no! Not even slightly! I always wear my tea-cup hat! It's my favorite after all. All my other hats are for collection sake and specific events. The birthday hat? Well, that's for celebrating birthdays of course!"
Brows raised in response. "We're eating already? Oh ho ho! You're too kind! I do enjoy a good book." Her words definitely don't imply the idea of....reading them.

"Doesn't make any more sense than flat out telling me that you want to eat me…!" Came his immediate response, indignant and baffled at her honesty. "B-Besides, wouldn't you want something way tastier to eat…?!" His eyes darted around before landing on his fishing rod, lying discarded a few feet away. "Y'know, like a nice fat juicy fish…?! Way tastier than me, just saying…!"
"I can sure as hell try and escape you…!" He was quick to fall prey to her provocation, his eyes narrowing at the challenge. Still, she did bring up a good point - going into the water could be pretty damn deadly for him…! Still, he wasn't about to let that panic show - even if he was almost sure that she wasn't bluffing! "Well, who says I'm gonna go right into the water, then…? I know for a fact one thing - I can outrun you!"
"It makes total sense! If you know you're going to be eaten, then that makes you scared and being scared is like....seasoning!" It's a monster thing. He just simply wouldn't get it. Claws come out as Lagoona stands her ground, playing defensively. She can either get closer herself or let him try to move past her in order to escape. At least in the second option she has a multitude of ways to bring him down.
"Aha, but human is very tasty! That's why I want to eat you!" Probably helps that as a monster, she's biologically driven to seek them out from the get-go. Like a...cat seeing a mouse for the first time! It's eat at first sight. Eyes narrowed in response as she moved back and forth rather than towards him.
"You still need to get past me in order to escape." The sea monster grinned. "That gives me plenty of chances to tackle you!"
"I think I would've struggled more if I had it. Besides, I didn't have much of a choice at the time." It was either get with the times or remain socially isolated. And as much as she wasn't a people person, as a human, she still yearned for connection. Staying silent wasn't an option.
Flint peered over at the other's teen selection of art with wide, interested eyes. Sometimes, she forgot phones existed. Her's was...somewhere. Someplace. Probably stuffed in the back of a bag dead.
"I haven't drawn recently. But before I covered cave walls in many different things. I really liked drawing Fangs and I's adventures in uhm, I suppose you'd call it abstract ways. Simplistic."
"That's true. Everyone deals with issues in their own unique way. Of course, some handle it better than others." But that's a subject for another time.
"Oh, how exciting! I wonder if any of it is still out there?" 50,000 years is a long time after all but the possibility was indeed there! So long as humans could reach the areas.
Flint's comment does make Draculaura think for a moment. "Did you ever see any monsters back in your day? Vampires, werewolves, sea monsters...that sort of thing." They've been around ever since mankind started happening after all. The two were connected even if it didn't seem like it at first.

"Huh, really?" Black Star had been around humans for a while, so she knew the slang term for cool. Regardless, it got a small chuckle out of her and a grin.
Geez, the Diopside knew she had reacted awkwardly all of a sudden. She really didn't want to explain the whole story to Barbara, especially since they had only just met. Black Star would slowly turn her form around to face the other woman, biting her lower lip for a moment.
But then, Barbara expressed that she didn't have to talk about it if she would be uncomfortable. That, was rewarded with a huge sigh of relief. Then a grey hand would wipe the forming sweat off of her forehead. Indeed, she had made a nice save.
"Thanks Barb', it's ah.. a touchy subject.. and kinda long, too." After a few sheepish chuckles, Black Star would turn her body forward once more and continue. The two reaching the field of beautiful pink flowers with unfortunate history.
"As for the lighthouse.. that's been there ever since I first came to Beach City! The view from on top of it is really beautiful, too!" It was like a flip of a hat, that Black Star's former pep in her voice had returned.
"Of course! Sounds like a superhero's name or something." Brows do raise in response before giving a gentle nod. She understand. The princess knew what it was like not wanting to touch upon certain subjects. No need to worry about it!
Hands travel into her pockets as she just starts to look around while walking with Black Star. Her gaze looks the lighthouse over. "Yeah, I bet. It doesn't beat the trees back in the Glade though! Woo boy! Climbing one of them can be a journey if you don't have a bouncy mushroom around. The view's killer though." Barbara would turn back towards Black Star before continuing.
"One of my friends have been here before...er...on Earth. Not in this place specifically. He mentioned something about a mall? Is there one of them here too?"
"Exactly! Then we both get extra if needed be!" Her eyes went partially brighter, Soldan had some difficulty containing how excited she can get with specific ideas or just in general. "I'll wait here, I ain't going anywhere elsse!" sitting down and taking out a book, just to occupy herself.
"Be right back." The ghoul winked before flying off. Spectra was only gone for a few minutes before returning with a grin upon her face. "I flew through three houses that have the biggest haul of chocolate." Her fingers started to point in their direction.
"That red house to the left, the yellow one off to the side, and the green one hidden behind those trees. It looks like only the yellow one has a pet. Which one would you like to hit, Soldan?"

"Oh hell yeah! This is gonna be so much fun! It'll be like camping! Without the over night part." The brunette bounces in place in her excitement.
"What are bugs like? are they crunchy? Or are they kinda like squishy?" Never had she thought she'd be eating bugs, but she isn't against it!
"Yeah, bugs and fish sound good kinda like a alternate to roasted marshmallows haha!" Not even like it really, but that's the closest thing she can compare of the top of her head.
"Well, I wouldn't call that camping then. Camping kind of includes staying overnight by a campfire." The vampire spoke matter of fact before bringing a finger to her chin.
"Depends on the type of bug truthfully. Some are squishy, some are crunchy. There is a lot of variety amongst them." Personally, she preferred the crunchy ones.
The vampire couldn't help but laugh. "I don't think I've ever heard a human say that before! Though now you've gotten me a little curious as to what a bug-covered marshmallow tastes like..." She might have to try that out later on. Could be tasty.
"It's easy. I still have some extra nori and rice left so we definitely have extras to make more, with some fillings." Reika gestured Lagoona to follow her towards the kitchen counter, "... But the hardest part of making it is to make sure the way you wrap it is tight, or else they will come off loose."
She showed Lagoona how the sushi was made, placing a bamboo rolling mat across, "First, we put a sheet of nori seaweed here, then a layer of rice next." Reika then demonstrated how it was done, placing the seaweed on the bamboo mat, before gently wetting her hands and spread a layer of rice on the seaweed, "See? Now you try by using the spare bamboo rolling mat."
Unfortunately for the other all Lagoona could think about while staring at the prepared food was how much she wanted to eat it.
"Huh?" She's taken out of her hungry thoughts by Reika's voice and soon turns her attention to the rolling mat. The sea monster does indeed struggle here and there with her final result looking like it's barely held itself together.
"Since I made it, I get to eat it right?" Clawed fingers were already inching towards it as she made direct eye contact with Reika.
