With average car payment in America being $500 a month, we are literally throwing our wealth away every month on a vehicle that is going down in value.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ For something to be $30,000 and turn in to $10,000 over 5-6 years due to depreciation and you incurring that loss every so often is a bad idea financially. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ You would never be willing to take $30,000 from your bank account or retirement and wilfully let it turn into $10,000. Shoot, I know people who are afraid to invest $1,000 because they don't want it to go down in value but these same people willing to drive a $20,000 down to $0 value⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ Not just the value but also your income is tied up, making payments for the term of the agreement. That $500 a month could do so much more for your household than serve as a car payment. You could pay off debt, build your savings, invest, give your family a little bit more financial wiggle room, etc. ⁣⠀ ⁣If you want to build wealth or at a minimum, obtain financial freedom, please get out of the cycle of car payments.
