I love it when the kids animated movie ends with some wacky character going "dance partayyy" and then a GREAT song starts to play and everyone is going absolutely nuts! So, to anyone who doesnt know, blade actually has a "real" perfume already produced by Hoyoverse ( see here ). So this should, hypothetically, be an easy question. but i don't want to take the easy way out.
so, i went hunting. i took the notes of his official perfume i liked best and started to look through his motifs. his most obvious is the spider lily, but he also has a jade pendant on his person, so i decided these would be the two themes i ran with.
now, neither jade nor spider lilies are actual searchable notes on the site i use to find perfumes, so i had to find substitutes. after searching for a bit i figured to use blood oranges for a spider lily substitute, and white floral for a jade substitute (as, apparently, thats what people use.. though i've never heard about this til now).
with this in mind i went searching, and i actually found a rather decent selection of perfume! but i actually found a decent selection, so much so i almost actually couldn't decide between two. but thankfully, one did win in the end.
this is Scandal Elixir by Jean Pul Gaultier. it is an earthy, warm scent that starts with both bergamot and blood oranges (two spider lily substitute), then moves onto white florals (jade) and cinnamon, and finishes with warm vanilla.
now because im undiagnosed and have a problem, i also cross checked the sillage and longevity and tried to make some personal assumptions on if i thought it would fit the character or not.
Blade is shown in the lore to be a very cold and reserved character, though in later quests he has been warming up and opening up. however for most of the games time he was very brooding and serious, you know the type. so thats what i mainly focused on.
I figured "someone like him" would prefer a more intimate perfume that didnt linger and didn't last forever (but also didn't fade so quickly). So I made sure the perfume reflected that.
This is my first perfume and i really really had fun, hopefully i get more submissions soon so i can yap about the things i like
i keep laughing at the way that eridian culture in the movie and eridian culture in the book are not contradictory at all, if you accept that movie rocky is just a total FREAK
