I’m so excited to share my finished bound copy of Far From the Tree by Aideomai! This will likely be the only copy since I have not been able to contact the author.

I really went back and forth with the overall design of this book, but in the end I let myself lean into the high fantasy vibes. This story is actually pretty fluffy, BUT there are swords and magic fights and spooky woods and so that’s the direction I took it!  The case is covered in midnight blue cloth and the design is finished in silver metal foiling. I foiled endpapers with copper foil using a design of trees, swords, and wands. Finally, I carried the front cover design throughout in the chapter headers.

I’m really just absurdly pleased by how this series turned out so you’ll all have to deal with the picspam.

This is the An Ever-Fixed Mark series by @amarguerite which is soul-mark Pride & Prejudice AU fic.

I learned how to make bookcloth and found these three matching fabrics in a bag of scraps a former quilter gifted me. The series is one stories and its two alternative endings, so the identical pattern but colour variations seemed to fit particularly well. They’re all sewn with the same colour as the cloth, though that’s hard to see once the book is finished.

I could not for the life of me figure out a paper to go with it so ended up using cream cloth instead. It’s made them into slightly too much Wash Hands Before Handling books for my taste but man I love the overal look and it feels like a thing for that time period.

I got a Cricut because I couldn’t make books this pretty and then put ugly spine titles on them. I may have a slight perfectionism problem.
