Hello Tumblr, let me introduce you to Gracen Tilton. She is a student at the University of South Carolina and a member of the Beta Zeta chapter of the Kappa Delta sorority. She seems to think that it is okay to call black people “niggers” as well as insult the professors who teach her, all while blaming the campus’ WiFi problems on them. I don’t know about anyone else, but this makes literally NO sense to me and I am infuriated by this girl’s ignorance, bigotry, and racism. I do not personally attend USC, but I have black and white friends alike who attend the school and feel unsafe because of her words. I sincerely hope that both the University and the Kappa Delta sorority investigate this situation thoroughly and take the appropriate action against Gracen’s blatant display of racism and outright rudeness.

Last month Tumblr took a decisive step toward transparency, and today we’re asking that our government do the same. We’re standing with our colleagues from across the web to demand transparency and accountability around laws concerning privacy.
