Only Used To Like Posts For My Sideblog

With the summer break fast approaching and with finals having been done earlier in the day, the linguist was grading those exams so she could give the semester’s grades to her students sometime tomorrow. There were still some exams left for her to grade but seeing the time in her phone’s screen, she knew it was time for her to go and get something to eat.

Walking down the hallway, it was when she walked past the infirmary that she noticed Harvey’s office was open. It was an unconcious habit of hers, looking in that direction whenever she walked by. Even with his replacement there while the Whitelighter was away she still looked because in her mind that space belonged to her friend. She’d half-expected to see the other doctor there but instead she saw Harvey.

“Welcome back” the firebender said as she stood by his door, a smile appearing on her lips. She had no idea the Whitelighter would be back today so it was a pleasant surprise to see he was back. Without another word she walked over to him with a smile. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug before she could stop herself.  

The whitelighter put files in the cabinets near his desk, rearranged his books and records, and set up his desk, flipping the name tag up. Doctor Faulkner. He had enough experience to be more than just a nurse. Doctor felt right. It had a nice ring to it. Everything was back in order soon enough. The infirmary would move slowly over the summer, but Harvey could definitely occupy himself. He also planned on helping out at Ginevra’s cancer clinic as well. 

Harvey looked up when he heard a familiar voice. Before he could react or say anything at all, her arms were around him. He smiled, hugging her back tightly. He almost didn’t want to let go. She was familiar and he realized that he was home. “Ginevra, I see you’re doing well,” he said, pulling back. She had color to her face. She was smiling. Really smiling. She looked happy. Maybe a little tired, but that was to be expected. But Harvey had never seen her so happy before and that made him happy. “Thank you. It’s been a while. I decided to come back a little early. I’m just settling back in. Fixing things up. My replacement didn’t have my organization skills,” he said, laughing lightly. “I’m sorry we couldn’t speak more these past few months. Communication anywhere was difficult.”
