fuck off, Iâll do this myself

//okay, with my program coming up I need to get onto a somewhat reasonable sleeping schedule. Because I have to be there at like 10am every day which means leaving my house by 9:30am (and an hour early the first day). Which is, essentially, torture in my book. But anyways!
I got a lot done tonight, I was not expecting to get that much done. I have 7 +3 drafts left (the +3 are message or discord based replies I owe). Iâm hoping to get to more tomorrow. But, for now, I must try to sleep.

âOooooo. That looks painful. Want some help?â
Geralt held a hand firmly over the wound on his lower abdomen. His jaw was clenched against the pain, but he still shook his head. âIâll manage,â he grated out.

fuck-off-you-stupid-goatâ:
They nodded and soon settled themselves on the floor, their cloak shifted as they removed the sword at their hip so they could sit down. But it was placed at their side, their hand resting around the grip.
Itâs sheathe was dark leather, tipped in a painted metal, they signs of someone who looked to conceal themselves. Their clothes were simple, plain pants, a cotten shirt, leather boots and leather gloves. All black, they were light on their feet that much was a given considering how close they had come to him.
While it wasnât obvious, they bound their chest in bandages for practicality. They chuckled at his sarcasm, they had a friend who often kept themselves in a appearance like him; devoid of emotion but sarcastic beyond belief. âDo not underestimate what I offer you Geralt.â They said, reaching into their coat before pulling out a rather hefty looking coin pouch. They tossed it to him, âFor simply accepting my offer.â They informed.
They looked thoughtful for a moment as they chose their words, eyes gazing into the flickering dance of the fire, âI require names of as many beasts as you are willing to tell me, habitats and usual patterns. How to differentiate sexes if any, preferred foods and such⌠How dangerous they are, and the best methods to deal with them.â They smirked.
âNo I do not wish for you to recall it all, that would be too much time for you and myself. But I will pay for each and every monster you provide information for.â They said smirking slightly, their fangs ever so slightly sharper than usual.
Geralt weighed the coin bag in one hand, though he didnât look inside. He could tell simply from the weight and sound that there was enough inside for him and Roach to remain well fed for the next few months, at least. However, he was also wary that this was some sort of trap. He placed the coin purse on the log beside him before resting one hand on his chest, atop the belt that fastened the scabbard to his back. He was prepared to draw the sword at a moment's notice in an action known to be far faster than the human eye could easily follow. Just because heâd accepted this manâs offer didnât mean he was prepared to let his guard down.
The witcher considered the other manâs words for a few long moments. âYou do realize, youâre asking for me to reveal some of the very information that makes me such a precious commodity to those who hire me?â The manâs detailed request left Geralt remembering some of his classes at Kaer Morhen, studying the beasts and monsters of the land, their habitats and patterns, their strengths and weaknesses. âSeems to me youâre looking to steal the business right out from under me, and to make me look a fool in the process.â The witcher said all of this with little emotion, gazing into the fire and remaining seemingly relaxed. The hand that rested on his chest, however, turned to a fist, gripping the belt, preparing.
chainsxwsmileâ:
As far as the wind was concerned, it was a still day. Save the crickets and frogs beginning their night chorus as the sun kissed the horizon, most of the foggy, damp world of the forest was eerily silent. Not due to his presence, of course. Yes, the Cetus was a stranger to the lands beyond the coast yet strangers and enemies werenât synonymous terms. There was something else in the forest with Bruce, as he trudged along the muddy trail, his talons the size of meathooks sinking in the ground with every footfall. The lack of wind made it difficult to catch the direction of the source. And the identity. Almost human, yet something different about it that elicited a pause in the twenty-foot long sea beast.Â
Bruce stopped in his tracks, taking the time to turn his head down the trail whence he already traveled. Time to cease the mind games.Â
âIâd âppreciate a name, if yeâre planninâ on followinâ me a few miles further,â he called out into the darkness, uncertain if anyone would respond back.
@whitehairedbutcherâ
Geralt hadnât been looking for a monster to hunt. Far from it, heâd merely been strolling casually through the woods, hoping he might come across something edible and enjoying the breeze wafting from the not-far-off sea. It was only when heâd heard the sound of something large moving in the distance that heâd pulled his sword and crept closer, curious as to what creature he might have stumbled upon.
To say heâd been surprised would be the greatest understatement of his lifetime. This monster was something heâd never seen the likes of before. He very faintly recalled one of Dandelionâs songs mentioning a sea creature similar to what he was trailing, but heâd assumed it was made up, something the troubadour had invented to terrify his audience.
However, it wasnât until the monster spoke that Geralt was stunned into silence. âGeralt,â he barely managed. âOf Rivia.â He slid his sword back into its scabbard and presented his empty palms. âI mean you no harm.â So long as the gesture was returned, of course.
Correctives quite effective, whatever the objective.
expanding-infinityâ:
Seems this man had a death wish. Or parhaps he was just that desperate. He did the one thing one should probably never do when speaking to Geralt. He grabbed the reigns of Roach to stop Geralt from proceeding. A bad move, however this man seemed delighted and relieved.
âPlease! Iâm certain I speak for all towns this far to the north! We will pay any amount of coin you desire if you deal with the white witch!â He pleaded, hands clasped as if praying that the Witcher would heed his request. âThere is a witch even further to the north. She is older than the mountains. And she has tortured this town and many others for generations with harsh winters, and even releasing nocturnal beasts to hunt our people in the night! We beg of you we will pay all the coin we can gather if you just end out sufferings and kill her!â
He was certain his words would fall on deaf ears after what he had just done but he was determined.
Geraltâs jaw clenched. He immediately stopped in his tracks and glared at the man with his unnatural amber eyes. âAll the coin in the world, all of the begging and pleading on this continent, would not deter me from the rath you will soon endure if you do not remove your filthy hand from my horse.â By the time he had finished his threat, the witcher was standing nearly nose to nose with the townsman.
The moment the manâs hand left Roachâs reins, Geralt was walking again, this time at a much quicker pace. Heâd heard the request, despite the distraction of unwanted hands being placed on his prized possession and closest friend. However, he was fairly certain the townsman and everyone else in the town had gone mad. Never before had he heard of a witch both capable of and willing to perform such feats. Either the civilians were mistaking many creatures and an abnormally long winter for a single malicious entity, or this witch was far too powerful for Geralt to have any say over whether she stayed or went.
A Strange Mage || Geralt X Knox
knoxcaulfieldâ:
It was his real name. Not that it meant much. A bastard son of a mage he was,he had taken his motherâs name as his fatherâs was a mystery. It had not stopped Knox though, he was a full fledged mage. He had been for decades. His life was his own and he was to live it. âIndeed.â he replied calmly. This man, pale white hair, gruff demeanor of course, he had a reputation. Blood, death, he was a butcher, a murderer a hunter. Knox could not judge. Magecraft was not without its darker intentions. âKnox.â he corrected then sighed. For one who didnât ask questions, he was asking far too many for his liking. âRumors mostly.â he replied. He couldnât tip his hand so quickly. He had seen this monster through the flames. âBut I found them to be true and here we are.â he chuckled. âAs I have mentioned before, I have dealt with beings from the Plane of Fire but nothing this mature or this strong. My elemental magics are strong but this being requires more might than I am able to provide.â âDoes that answer your question Witcher? Perhaps I can ask why are you in this region of the Continent? The pickings are slim.â
Geraltâs usual grunt accompanied the mageâs explanation. Indeed, he had already asked the spellcaster why he couldnât manage the ifrit on his own, but he was also well aware he was being given an explanation that was far from the entire truth. He understood why Knox might play his cards close to his chest upon their initial meeting. But, now that the witcher had agreed to accompany him on this rather daredevil mission, heâd hoped that the magician might be a bit more willing to share his hand.
âI go where the money takes me, mage.â He gave the smallest of smiles as he ignored Knoxâs earlier correction. âAnd, if that should fail, where Roach takes me.â He tilted his head to indicate the horse following closely behind them, who gave her own grunt as though on cue. âI could ask you the same question. If you heard of this ifrit through rumor, there must have been another reason that drew you here. Was it love, mage? Business? Or, perhaps, you just came for the ale?â

Wargs | Geralt X Annastasia
shewhofeelsnatureâ:
It was a normal day. Well, as normal one could be as she had to make her second daily trek through the woods near the small village. Her first trek, in the early morning is usually the easiest going into the village. But her night one? Not so much. She had to take extra precautions. You see, there is a Warg pack that had made the forest their new home.
Walking along the path in her basic clothing and older cloak, she held her basket close to herself as she was as quiet as possible. Hearing a sudden voice in the air she stopped dead in her tracks, not even taking a breath as she looked around. Letting the air out slowly she licked her lips before whispering. âI am just heading home. It is not wise to be here sir.â She said taking a few hesitant steps until she saw the large figure of a man in front of her. âA pack of Wargs lives here now.â She finished looking around as best she could.
Geralt dilated his pupils slightly so as to have a better look at the woman in front of him. She seemed timid enough, and after a once-over he was sufficiently convinced she wasnât a threat. His stance took on a less threatening air, his sword arm relaxing and the tip of the blade resting against the ground.Â
âIâm aware of the wargs.â He could hear the beasts in the distance and kept his voice low to avoid their detection. âIâve been hired by the locals to do away with them.â He was mildly surprised the rumors of his presence hadnât already reached this unfamiliar woman. âNow, unless you have a sword hidden in your skirts, I suggest you distance yourself from this particular location.â
