so this time i drew my gal Comet interacting with another icewing
incidentally that happens to be Winter because i LOVE him and he's been totally irrelevant since arc 2 which legit hurts

Time for a little storytime regarding this part of her life ^^;
Well, Comet wasn't ever exactly the most popular within her tribe.. unless it came to being ridiculed, that is
Since she was quite the easy target, on account of her shy personality and scales not functioning as well as the other RainWings', a lot of them picked on her and excluded her for any weak reason they could think of - because, at the end of the day, she wasn't considered "RainWing enough"
For her early years she desperately tried to fit in with everyone, taking their insults and back-handed compliments as just regular chitchat, but as she grew she came to the conclusion that it was futile, and instead chose to just stay out of the way of their sharp words as best as she could
Thankfully, it never got so bad that she was exiled - her father had a lot to do with that, though. He stood by her as best as a dad, one raising a peculiar dragonet by himself, ever could and defended her from the RainWings' harsh comments, which occasionally made them think twice before speaking down to her
However, as the years went on, the RainWings got increasingly more bored of her, and instead of keeping up with the taunting, they tried to be more understanding, given her situation - some of them even tried to make amends for being rude to her beforehand (which is how she acquired what is pretty much her only friend, Damson. More on him later!)
Although she's thankful for the positive change, she still remains kind of reserved, and with poor communication skills, as well as nerve-wrecking anxiety about social situations. Guess that's what being socially outcast for your formative years does to you. Whoops.
