can you write a marichat fic where it's heartfixer but marichat and marinette is in a lot of distress after being defeated but is comforted. i'd love them cute but not as if they are cheating on their actual partners lol
Ummm absolutely I can! Marichat my beloved. I miss them so much ππ this was a little rushed because I just loved this idea so so much but I hope you enjoy!!!
Youβre not good enough to be Ladybug.
Youβre not strong enough. Not mentally or physically.
You canβt keep doing this.
You put the world at risk, put Adrien at risk.
The world deserves better. He deserves better.
Marinetteβs mind is racing as she stands out on her balcony only hours after being akumatized. She had been drowning in her own mind ever since, despite the brave face she attempted to put on for the school.
Nothing is ever going to get better.
Looking down at her phone screen which reads 02:12, looks like she wonβt be getting much sleep tonight.
Opening her phone to a picture of Adrien tears start to fall for what feels like the 50th time today. βIβm sorry Adrien.β She struggles to keep her sobs quiet, wrapping her pink fleece blanket tighter around her thin frame. βSo sorry.β
Somewhere else in Paris, in the Agreste household, Adrien is pacing his bedroom; much to his kwamis dismay.
βCome on Adrien, she said sheβs fine!β Plagg rolls his eyes, heβd been ready for his holder to go to bed hours ago.
βShe can say one thing and mean another Plagg.β The blonde mimics the action, irritated by his kwamis apparent lack of empathy.
βWell then you can check on her again at school tomorrow.β Realistically Plagg knows there is no reasoning with Adrien when it comes to Marinette.
Adrien knew it wouldnβt be realistic to show up as himself at the moment, so Chat Noir would have to do. He shakes his head, βno, I need to check on her now. Plagg claws out!β
βMarinette, itβll all work out. Promise.β Tikki had been trying to talk the girl down for hours now, to no avail.
How could she say that? Marinette wonders. How could she possibly say that when sheβs not the one lying to everyone she loves. Sheβs not the one having to live with this immeasurable guilt. Not the one who very well could have caused the end of Paris a mere few hours prior.
βMarinette?β Her head snaps up. βChat?β She makes quick work of wiping her eyes with the corner of her blanket and hoping there isnβt any snot on her face. βWhatβre you doing here this late?β She wonβt meet his gaze, praying her face isnβt too red and puffy. βNothing! Nothing at all! Just getting an early start to the day! Hehehβ¦ heh.β Yeah that was totally believable. βAt two oβclock in the morning?β Not.
βDo you wanna talk about whatβs really going on?β βI- I donβt knowβ¦ can we just sit for now?β At the moment she couldnβt exactly think of anyone else to offer her a semblance of comfort than her partner in crime fighting.
They sat in silence for a while, Marinette absentmindedly biting at her nails, before she speaks up. βI could have hurt the boy I love today. I was akumatized. Iβve never felt so scared and angry andβ¦ violated.β Her body shakes with a sob. Great, she thinks, thought I was done crying for the night. βI could have hurt so many people.β Her chest feels tight, her breathing unsteady.
Her breaths only continue to quicken as she claws at her forearm, searching for anything to anchor her to her body. She wasnβt a stranger to the feeling of coming undone but the last time it had been this bad was when she had lost the miraculousβ. She squeezes her eyes closed tightly, hoping Chat about will disappear and save her the embarrassment. Her mouth is so dry itβs incredibly uncomfortable.
βPlease,β she pleads. βPlease just go away.β Sheβs rocking from her spot on the floor now. βGo away.β It comes out as a strangled sob.
Unable to think of anything else Chat moves right next to her and pulls her tightly against him. βMarinette I need you to breathe.β Watching her like this was like a knife in gut being twisted over and over again. If he had just taken a moment to think none of this would have happened. He should have known better than to doubt her. His clawed hand rubs up and down her back, scratching lightly and careful not to cross a line that he shouldnβt. He knew he was Adrien but she didnβt.
βIn, and out. In, and outβ¦β He guides her through several more breaths until her breathing has slowed and her sobs have quieted a bit.
βYouβre right.β Chat starts, making Marinette snap her gaze to him. βLet me finish. Youβre right, you could have hurt people. Just like how Ladybug and I could hurt people everyday while fighting akumatized villains. But unlike the villains we fight you broke free. You resisted. You didnβt hurt anyone. You should be so proud of yourself Marinette. Iβm proud of you. And you shouldnβt bottle all of this up, so many people love you and they wouldnβt want you to suffer in silence like this.β
He puts a gloved hand under her chin and gently forces her to look at him. βTalk to someone, anyone. The boy you love, your best friend, you parents, anyone. Just talk. Donβt keep hurting yourself for the sake of others, you donβt deserve that.β He swipes a lone tear that trickles down her flushed cheek. βPromise me?β His brows furrow, desperately trying to convey his seriousness. βYeahβ¦ yeah I promise.β She sniffles quietly.
Adrien, or Chat Noir sits with her murmuring comforting words until sheβs fallen asleep. He canβt help but to admire her when she seems fully content for the first time in a long time.
Picking her up and carrying her back to her bed is easy work for the hero who lays her down as gently as possible. βI love you Marinette.β He kisses her gently, hoping not to wake her. That would leave her with too many questions.
He glances at her one last time before he leaves, praying sheβll really listen to him and talk. The sweetest and most genuine girl he knows does not deserve to suffer. Not at all. Not ever.
