honestly I disagree pretty strongly with most Popular Takes about chapter 3, but i ESPECIALLY think a lot of people are being waaaaaaay too premature in dismissing chapter 3 as "filler" or as nothing more than the last hurrah for the fun/light tone before shit gets real. I also cannot declare with certainty what toby has planned (an attitude that I wish more of the fandom would adopt tbh), but i suspect chapter 3 may be FAR more important lore-wise to the overall game than it may have seemed at first glance, especially with regard to sword route and the egg room stuff (we'd be here all day if I listed everything I found weird or off about chapter 3, but the probable importance of those two things in particular seemed glaring to me).

ngl, when i re-fought spamton neo recently post-new chapters and "the stage lights are shattered" just kept looping over and over again once i exhausted the rest of the flavor text, that made me feel like maybe i needed to lie down for a bit.
