I proudly announce the “first” strip for Moon Theater Comics! Finally we get to have an actual glimpse to what this blog might have in store, not counting the “beta” strip below. 

 However my schedule might be just a liiiittle too tight anyway…

I have a love/hate relationship with Becky.

She’s very cute, and in my opinion, much prettier than Ash. (I think that was a nice little detail since it just makes what Lance did to Ash even worse – cheating on her with a prettier girl.) But as pretty as she is, she seems to have an equally horrible personality! I mean who does what she did?!

But let me start off by pointing out some of the things I actually like about this character. Becky must be from the Valley or something because, that accent! “I’m sorry, sweetie, I think I left my sunglasses in there–“ Notice how at the end of this sentence she uses uptalk/Valspeak as if it were a question lol. And can I point out how condescending this is?! She was JUST CAUGHT cheating with someone else’s boyfriend, and the other girl is understandably angry and heartbroken, and she’s just like sorry Sweetie, not sorry. I’m better than you. She is truly a bitch haha. Okay so I don’t like that part of Becky but I DO love her character design! Her quills: She arranges a few of her front quills as if she had side bangs. (And I don’t know if this is a thing for porcupines in the Sing universe but) would she be a blonde? Becky’s quills are lighter/paler than Ash’s, so maybe Ash would be considered a brunette or something. I don’t know. Her eyes: They are more light gray compared to Ash’s deep blue eyes. It compliments her distressed jean jacket well. Her fashion: Becky’s dress and grooming is more girly rock hipster than Ash’s punk style. (I’m making up these terms guys…) I love her with the right ear piercings and the double chain necklace. Ash doesn’t wear any jewelry. Finally, Becky’s heart-shaped sunglasses really pull her flirty skank look together.

Most people immediately don’t like her since she is clearly the bitch of all bitches. We don’t know how/when exactly she started things with Lance, but she must have known about Ash before they were caught together because while Becky seemed surprised that Ash suddenly walked in, she didn’t seem surprised that Lance had a girlfriend, and didn’t seem to care that Ash was like wtf? It’s like Becky knew this would happen eventually and she was ready to show Ash up. Haven’t we all known someone like this at one point? The makers of Sing did such a good job on making her the worst!! (But this behaviour in real life is absolutely not ok! Pretty looks do not justify ugly behaviour, girls!)
