The world is not a pleasant place, the world owes trans people better safety and human rights, it's a bare minimum and such a basic ask. And although Canada (where I'm from) has a very long way to go for protecting all trans people in a variety of situations (let's not forget our trans siblings who are homeless, those who are fighting the overdose crisis, those who aren't safe in their own homes and don't call authorities for help due to fear of violence and racism, those who are put through public and private conversion therapy camps, those who are not here with us today), I'm glad we live somewhere that has some kind of protections in place in the law that gives us a starting point to go off of. There are supportive people and places that make all the difference, and I hope you find or have those people and places in your life. You have a community member in me if you ever want validation or are looking for resources and I'm sure many active allies in this group.

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded. [7:57]

And Allah has sent down rain from the sky and given life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who listen. [16:65]

And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water. That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation. And gardens of entwined growth. [ 78: 14-16]

Rain is truly a blessing from Allah.
