listen...spray some of that nice perfume...use the good hand cream...wear that outfit even if you are just staying home...light those special candles you have been saving...enjoy those little things even if there is no occasion
Kaitlyn
Start this week by taking the time to do at least one thing just for yourself. Be it listening to your favorite song over and over while dancing alone in your room, be it eating a good meal without any guilt, or enjoying a warm shower to make your muscles relax. And when you do these little things for yourself only, congratulate yourself for taking the time for self-care. Remember: you deserve good things.

You are not:
Hard to love
Difficult to be around
Undeserving of love
Undeserving of help and care
Going to be alone forever
Going to be abandoned by who you love
Feel this lonely always
Too awkward and shy to meet new people
Please remember that you deserve to be loved and allow others to love you unconditionally. 🌷💕
The text reads: “Being disabled is not a failure and does not make you “less than.” You have so much value regardless of what you can and can’t do as a result of your disability

Don’t touch my mobility aid :) pin designs
Pssst, able-bodied ppl, just don’t touch Disabled people’s mobility aids. It’s annoying and it sucks.

Showing the damage to my C spine that caused my paralysis
Show off my flexibility and my heels. As a quadriplegic putting on some shoes are a struggle. These heels weren't too bad, the pain in the ass was the pants. Price you when going out and want to look hot AF.
Pretty much
Haven't posted in a while

Why do I share my disability?
Because those kind people who shared theirs made me confident. Not all of us are accepted in our lives. Some of us aren't even treated like a being who deserves respect. Sometimes people ignore us altogether. Sometimes they say nasty things.
It hurt a lot because I felt broken, I felt wrong. I questioned my worth. I thought that I meant nothing.
Then I started reading what other disabled people posted. They were confident, loud, proud. "Get your accommodations, fight for your rights, shout your existence!" I felt accepted, I felt strong, I felt home. I became proud of myself, I never bowed down and looked at the pavement again.
Relatives try to give me random advice, some think that I exaggerate, some think that I'm a faker, some worry too much, some pity me in a "oh the little soul whose life is ruined" way.
But the disabled community compliments my cane, shares cool tips, laughs with me, mourns with me, stands with me, supports me, just gets me. I am allowed to rant, joke, cry, laugh, ramble, speak...
I am allowed to exist.
I want every disabled person to know that you aren't wrong. You aren't broken. You are glorious. We are the ones who change the world. I absolutely adore the way you loudly and proudly exist. Thank you. You are a part of this loving community and I'm so grateful.
I've been in a wheelchair 18 (almost 19) years. Amazing the amount of people who think that I just wake up and get I'm my wheelchair and that's it. If it was only that simple. Being a paraplegic or quadriplegic involves a lot more that just being in a wheelchair. There's spasms that besides paralyzed limbs make it hard to get dressed, also the pain (which can be constant) at the level of injury. All these things are pretty much the tip of the iceberg.
