I had so much fun with those Until Dawn headcannons I did that I've decided I'm opening my ask box for requests

I'm only doing headcannons right now because I'm not quite comfortable with full fics

I will do headcannons for characters from:

There are some characters I just don't like or don't know much about, but I'll try my best no matter what

For one, this is the very first trailer, they aren't gonna show their whole hand right away.

Two, if it was going to be a shitty soulless cash grab, it would probably be full of the old characters, recast, and have all that nostalgia porn that companies like to put in without thought to attract fans of the original. The fact that it has new characters and a new setting is a good sign it's a story designed to be good enough to stand on its own.

Three, depending on your playthrough, lots of the old characters are dead, and giving the og a canon ending would be contradictory to the choices you get to make.

Four, it doesn't look like a completely disconnected story. Dr. Hill being shown right at the end makes me think it's like another one of his patients in the story and you find out who it is over time, which sounds so cool. If Dr Hill becomes the throughline of the series and we see all his different patients, I would love that.

Five, this is how all the slasher franchises Until Dawn was based off of worked. There was a whole new cast of kids for every Friday the 13th. And chances are at least one of the original characters will be there in some capacity, probably as an NPC, and probably Sam if I'm going with the Friday the 13th model, since Alice appeared briefly in part 2

Six, it looks fucking awesome. The killer looks so cool, the tension between the characters already has me invested, the setting is really interesting, and I want to know the lore already. What happened in the facility? Whos the killer and why are they here?

Leon and Chris: capcom you have one job right now and you better not screw it up, cowards

Chris and Wesker: only when done right though. i want them tired and sick of fighting and ready to forgive purely out of resignation

Ethan and Heisenberg: especially if they're raising Rose(and Eveline too that would be great)

Wesker and Birkin: feral asshole and asshole who's wondering how tf he ended up here, can't go wrong there lol

Leon and Luis: this one is both tragic and comical.

Chris and Piers: this one is so saddddd :(

Leon and Krauser: this is just that quote like "you want to kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid" it could work both ways too

Jill and Claire: badass lesbians. need I say more

Jake and Sherry: love the two of them fighting their legacies and i think the 'tough badass x empathetic' ship is great

Wesker and Krauser: these two are easily in my own top 10 hottest fictional characters of all time, so....

Grace and Zeno: their whole interactions is amazing, and this is half confirmed by Zeno's voice actor

Jill and Sheva: super rare but really really really great

Mr X and Nemesis: i love Tyrant shenanigans

Excella and Zeno: only seen a few of this but i think it's good for both of them

HUNK and Zeno: power dynamic power couple

Grace and HUNK: it's weird and fucked up, but i have seen one(1) fanart of this and it's stuck in my brain

Go look at something you would have passed on your way to something else? Go right across some grass and hop down a short wall? Explore the interior of a building and try all the doors? Go see stuff and see it from a different perspective? Go see stuff that you pass by every day, but would go explore and examine and appreciate as beautiful graphics or interactivity or a cool easter egg in a game?

and i can't tell if Zeno and Grace are already in there. the fight only takes a few minutes on average, and when you get there as Leon, Zeno is still explaining stuff, so they could have just got there, but they're just kind of standing around, it doesn't look like they just entered. so my guess is that Zeno didn't want to have this conversation with Grace until after Leon was dead, and he counted on HUNK to do that. so did they pick HUNK up somewhere after Grace passed out in the RPD and go to ark together? is HUNK working directly for Zeno as a mercenary or is he supposed to be working for the connections now? if you go back to that spot later after leaving it for a minute his body is gone so we know he's ok, but instead of going after Leon again, he leaves, probably to get medical attention. HUNK probably would be the one to go and tell the connections what happened, assuming it was them who went back to collect the head, so while he's still patching himself up in the helicopter they're having him steer them to where the body is. i don't know who else would come get the head and HUNK is the only one who might have both cared to tell them and who actually survived to go talk about it.

For one, there's still las plagas and the mold. Even if we were to ignore all the nuances(I'll get into it in a sec) that would be involved with elpis being a thing that exists and just assume now all viruses are cured forever, we still have other types of pathogen and parasites and stuff, which resident evil is more than willing to use.

For another, just because elpis exists doesn't mean it's an instant fix for everything virus related. For one, we only know that it works on Progenitor based viruses, and there are plently of other naturally occurring viruses in the RE universe to modify into horrifying things(Veronica, Phobos, Abyss, etc).

Also, there were only like 6 vials of elpis that we saw, and I'm gonna assume that was all of it. One that Zeno used, one Grace gave Leon, one Leon promised Sherry, so that leaves 3, we can assume one went to Claire, probably one to Ada or Carlos, maybe Jill but I don't know if she'd need one bcs she has T-antibodies. So there's either not much left or none, and it would take time to learn how to make more from a sample.

Also, Resident Evil is and has always been about corporate greed. Even if they figure out how to mass produce it, what do you think the healthcare system would do? Slap a huge price tag on it and make it impossible to get unless you're rich.

But I don't think that's accurate either.

Those people are more like Roger from the original Dawn of the Dead
