Reggie - April 1898 (where there is light AU)
“Robert, I am so very sorry but I must warn you that this birth is going to be very difficult. If the child makes it through alive- and I will do everything in my power to make it so- there is a chance that there may be problems with their health.” Reggie said, his voice wavering over concern for his friend’s unborn child.Â
“And Cora?” Robert asked, his audible gulp only making his fear all the more palpable.Â
“I believe she is not in any danger. Thankfully.” Reggie confirmed, his tone hollow with apprehension.Â
“Thank you, Reggie, and please, do whatever you can.” Robert was sincere, he was grateful for his friend’s support and expertise during this trial but he couldn’t think of much to say at the moment, praying silently with bated breath for the life of his child.Â
“I will do whatever I can, I promise you that.” Reggie was never one to make an empty promise.Â
