There’s a store that makes rowing jewelries its really awesome they also make sports and everything else themed jewelries. Most of them are hand crafted. I would be posting some pictures on here.

You always have the option to quit. 

With 750 to go you are totally allowed to say “fuck this" 

Get off the erg.

And never look back.

But every rower I’ve ever met has something to prove. Whether it’s to their team, their coach, their parents, or themselves. They have to prove that they are stronger than they think. 

The start is my favorite part.

Rowing to the starting blocks, all the tension, the stress, the nerves. There’s a thousand things going through your mind.

As a coxswain, you’d be thinking about your calls, about what you’re gonna say, how to motivate them, reminding yourself not to oversteer, thinking its on you to keep your course straight to cut even a hundredth of a second off your time. You need your rowers as much as they need you.

As a rower, you’d be thinking about your form, about your training, about what you  want and how you’re gonna get it. You’ve been working for this, you want all your hard work to pay off. You know you don’t mind the blisters, calluses and sore muscles. You know you’re gonna pull for everyone in that boat and everyone who got you to where you are now.

Together, all of you visualize your race. You want to show-off to your coach who’s watching your race from the shore, not breathing and just wishing he or she could pull you to the finish line as fast as they can. You all have the same goals and want the same thing. To win and to make everyone proud.

I plan your races and steer you true

even though I cross the finish line last.

I make sure you make it to the finish line quickly and safely,

though I never get the credit. 

I watch your steps

when you can’t see them yourself.

I am the first man in and the last man out. 

I do this all for you, rowers. So we can win. 

Coxing is a hell a lot harder than it looks.

It’s hard to get used to port and starboard being on opposite sides.

You get weird little calluses on your thumbs.

Your rowing calluses never really go away.
