Wow… didn’t expect the end of this episode to be so fucking heavy, this show has been getting so emotional lately. WTF

He has a dad who cared about him, did everything he thought he needed to do, and yet it wasn’t enough. It feels like you’re being a burden and too picky.

How can you feel like you never got enough from your parents when they where always there and always got you stuff.

You don’t realize you’re being emotionally neglected, how could your life be so wrong you have it better than most people. So when you grow up you have a resentment for your parents that you can’t seem to explain, they played with me, got me toys, taught me life lessons, but there was a piece missing. A piece you can’t seem to articulate (ironically enough you cant articulate it cause it’s an emotional issue, to which you never learned how to express emotions properly)

As an autistic man I get Shawn being discombobulated by his mother being there so bad. Like Gus saying “you’ve been wanting to see your mom” and getting on to him about hiding.

But like I get it, even if you want something change is scary even if it’s change you want it’s change nonetheless.

Definitely not the first time I’ve related my autistic experience to Shawn, probably won’t be the last. But the first time it felt important enough to blog about.

I’m gonna be so honest, He said Red Robin and my mind immediately jumped to the comic book character. I thought they were making an obscure Dick Grayson or Jason Todd Red Robin reference cause this episode came out before Tim Drake was Red Robin. I already calculated all that in my head before Shawn even said the second half of the sentence I was thinking about the superheroes immediately because I’m a superhero fan I thought they were doing a thing with Gus where he would say something about that being a weird superhero pick. I just have autism apparently.

WHOA WHOA WHOA DID GUS JUST REVERSE THE “this is my partner [insert name]” BIT

Not Lassiter hiring Shawn and then Shawn calling it a date, Shawn wants him so bad.

(Also if anyone knows any show trivia were they actually singing in this episode, it holds no weight on my enjoyment of the episode I’m just a sucker for knowing if actors actually sung things or not)
