This episode was SO necessary for Adrien's development as a character. We needed this so he could grow more. Imagine seeing people absolutely glaze your father to the point where they wanted to build a statue in his honor IN THE MIDDLE OF A ENORMOUS PLAZA. And it becomes worse when you think about Adrien's thoughts on his father.

His father was abusive towards him, he literally has let him down a thousand times, he also wasn't present when Adrien's mother was dying and instead was going on a Indiana Jones-ish random side quest.

The contrariety of thoughts and perspective confused Adrien so much, and his reactions are so legitimate. I'll give my applause to the authors of this season in general because it's truly incredible.

And the parallel of Chat Noir's cataclysm on arm of the statue is flawless. When I saw that my brain got sudden flashbacks, as well as THAT one fall that resembles Chat Blanc. So many parallels and details of the past seasons that just make sense.

I really don't have much to say, but what Adrien said to the statue really was heartbreaking, and seeing the statue shatter in front of him was an image which probably will stay with the fandom for long. The last phrase was also remarkable: "Why'd you go from Papa Korn... to a heartless statue?
