What if instead?

Last night I read "Wilson" by Daniel Clowes - the first graphic novel I've ever read. I didn't have any expectations for the book, but I enjoyed it immensely. 

One of my favorite breweries, and just two hours away. Might be worth an abbreviated road trip some weekend.

This is an essay in which Timothy Gowers discusses the dichotomy of problem solving and theory building in mathematics. Being a combinatorialist, Gowers skews towards the problem solving end. The article also highlights some famous results in combinatorics, as well as their methods of proof.
