i cant stop im dying
so i was playing around making lace patterns from the copy-paste-flip-method using terrible shitty sketches of the guardians of the galaxy and then

guns are work.
new hobby: pestering youtube roleplayers into giving me accurate details on their characters' appearance.
I have officially spent more than enough time making this AK-47 accurate.
on the plus side, kaitlyn makes costume design super easy for us by literally wearing her character's clothes to sessions so bless her for that.
shading evades me. shading is hard.

inking paper-drawn sketches seems doable
some sketches of Jesse. it is no use denying my nature this is all i can draw.
Okay, first drawing entirely in SAI (this time around). Learning curve is highly curvy but it's a start. I have no doubt that i will still tend to sketch irl and then ink digitally, partly because i really like having physical copies of things like to take to cons and stuff, but it'd be nice to have other options.
i have no idea why i drew Hawkeye for this I have never drawn him before. Hello Clint.
THIS
THIS IS THE SMALLEST BRUSH I CAN MAKE NOW? THIS IS THE SAME PEN I SKETCHED WITH WHAT THE FUCK
soooooo i got this far and added another layer to start inking....and it's like, nah son, error message, suddenly my pen is giant even though the size is set to one? like
why
how do i fix
hang on i'll show you what its doing

well, sketching is way more fun. idk if this will look like anything when it's done but i'm trying.
like 15 minutes in:
familiar overwhelming feeling of "jesus these controls were built for people who know too much about brushes" but the pressure sensitivity seems more responsive and it recognizes switching to eraser which is good. I miss some of the intuitive controls from MyPaint which is what I used to use to ink, but I guess I can't expect every program to have single-key shortcuts for brush size, zoom level and canvas rotation. :P Does have a click and drag tool for moving the canvas, GIMP was missing that as far as i can tell. can't seem to find a history panel. hmm.
still a little bit of lag. feel like maybe that's unavoidable.
