It doesn’t seem to be actively on fire, but you hose it down with the fire extinguisher just to be safe. You’re pretty sure you’re in shock. What even is this thing? Rocket debris? De-orbited satellite? A very unfortunate plane? Oh man, you hope there wasn’t anyone in there. 

Satisfied that the thing probably won’t start a bush fire, you pull out your big flashlight to take a closer look. The first thing you notice is how shiny it is, even covered in soot and white powder. The second thing is how the object looks absolutely nothing like anything you have ever seen before. And you’ve seen a LOT of stuff. You mainly deal in the aerospace industry and you have seen as many space-bound objects as you can get your eyes on. This is not one of them.

Ok, so. There is a UFO in the forest outside your office. Fuck. The more you look, the more you are certain this was some sort of passenger vehicle. The whole thing appears to open from the top; but the top is now the side and the windshield is so smashed and smeared with various dusts that you can only barely tell it was glass to begin with. It’s intact though. Which means whatever was inside is probably also intact. Double fuck.

You faintly hear something as you trudge back through the undergrowth, and quickly begin to sprint when you realize it’s BANGING. There is something banging on the glass of the pod. With their fists. You mentally shove away the panic attack starting to fight for control. Someone is in trouble and they need help. That’s it. You have to act, now.

You stumble to a stop in front of the pod, and immediately drop everything to bang back. It stops, for a moment, and then switches to tapping, slowly enough you can follow it to one of the larger gaps in the bent metal casing. 

There’s a hand. Just barely visible through the hole.
