This was our first stop on our short trip to California. There are tons of trails at this park and luckily we had friends that knew their way around. They took us on an unofficial trail that had loads of variety. This hike was a blast! There were lots of places to take a break and have a snack. The trees provided shade and that helped keep it cool. There was a swimming hole where people were cliff jumping and sun tanning. We did not get in the water because it was really crowded and Kristin is not a fan of brown water We were also able to use our new DJI Phantom 4 drone. If you're in Malibu, this is worth checking out!

This is a behind the scenes look into our adventure to Windy Point atop Mt. Lemmon. We had were going to hike to the top, but we decided to test out the drone instead. We needed more time to practice with the Phantom 4 because it was our first time flying it in the field. This is a great lookout and perfect if you just want a quick stop somewhere beautiful.

We headed down to Tucson with a plan of hiking Mt. Lemmon. We changed our minds and did the scenic drive instead. The drive to the top was peaceful and had many stunning views. We stopped at a few lookout points along the way to take photos and video. Once you make it to the top, you have a gorgeous perspective of the terrain below. You are able to walk out to the edge of the mountain and look down in all directions. Standing on the edge of the cliff makes you realize the altitude in which you find yourself. It is a great place to have lunch and absorb the beauty. It is by no means a hike, but more of a scenic destination. A must see if you are traveling thru Tucson. You can keep driving further to see more beautiful aspects of the mountain, but we stopped here on this trip. Now get out there and Xplore More!
