i was so sure of myself

i originally commented on this in the tags of a blank post but i’m just about to snap! how come liam puts forth an effort to show care and intellect and thoughtfulness about a serious sociopolitical issue occurring right now - which does not even affect laws of his own country - but all any of you can do is criticize him? of course people can always become more educated about a subject and of course no one’s message is going to be absolutely perfect but none of you even spare the time to praise him for using his platform for an important problem. he’s giving a voice to millions and raising awareness to everyone who follows him and that’s so significant!! but this fandom doesn’t give a fuck and it shows. harry can slap a sticker on his guitar and everyone will talk about how this fucking created world peace but as soon as liam writes out a long message pertaining to something impactful it’s just…. crickets.. and criticisms. he’s not a perfect person, no one is, but he’s done more than any other member in terms of talking earnestly about such topics. there’s a huge difference in the way harry/louis would have and are treated for a smaller effort compared to liam’s actual post. sick of the double standards and sick of the way you guys treat liam payne because he’s such a good person and he goes entirely unappreciated by most of you.
