It begins during BG3 but is just now transitioning to post-game events (and a new main storyline).
Reccer says: I really love the way weepingdawn captures the tone/dialogue/feelings of the existing BG3 characters. While Isotta is an original character, the others feel so in keeping with the game that it's easy to believe this fic fits squarely in between the lines of the story I already love so much. I can hear the voice actors reading their lines in my head while I read! The fic is also framed as if Rolan and Isotta are writing this story themselves, and Volo stole the manuscript and published it. It's a delightful way to tell the story, and there's tons of fun banter between Isotta and Rolan in quippy author's/editor's notes throughout each chapter and in the endnotes. Even though they won't get together for awhile, the flirty notes and allusions to their relationship make the slow burn more bearable.
