My Chelsa frustrations aside, I’m glad that they addressed how the audience influenced the writing. I’m also glad that they addressed the hair styles, the disproportionate screen time, and the stories that include PoC but don’t give them fully realized stories.

I hope that, going forward, we see more improvement. I chose Choices because I loved that I could be black and romance whomever I wanted. I know I’m not the only person who feels that way, and I know that black people like myself would be more than happy to spend money on good content.

It’s not like we want PB to fail. We just want them to do better, because we see the potential! And we just want to be included in a way that’s respectful to our identities. That’s it. It’s not hard.

My favourite Choices Pride moment is how the LGBT community often feels like we were an afterthought when you were making these books, because hey—at least you can claim the sweet sweet representation while putting in the bare minimum! 😍 🏳️‍🌈

My favourite Choices Pride moment is the fact that I specifically started playing Choices because I was tired of seeing myself getting violently murdered, beaten, abused or forgotten in mainstream media, so I went looking for games and stories that portrayed positive gay romances with a gay man as the main character; but now when playing this app I feel like I’m being forgotten just as much as before. Congratulations Pixelberry Studios, you successfully baited the queers! 😍 🏳️‍🌈
