hey just wanted to say, I just found this blog and it's great! I'm a writer who has trouble with motivation and getting myself in The Zone, but this blog so far has been helping with that, and I'm writing about werewolves c:
Hey! I’m so glad this blog is helping as inspiration to all your creatives out there, and I’d love to read/see any of the work that is inspired by this humble blog! I wish you all the best with your motivation and thank you for your kind words!!
wounded, but never alone ; the night conceals the horror, but the moonlight will always expose your sins
bite the hand that wishes to drown you ; i am not your brother
the snap of jaws and a flash of gold ; i am the guardian of the forest and you cannot tame me

Ugggh it’s so nice to finally find another wolf
We seem to be scattered all over the world in a cruel twist of fate. We must remember that none of us are alone, and we all howl at the same moon.
being both a lesbian and a werewolf, I fuckin love the moon 🌕💕
In my opinion, werewolves don't have packs. They don't have thick, neat fur. It's bushy and matted and tangled all at once. In my opinion, werewolves don't have any human remorse, they just kill and eat whatever (or whoever) they can remember to be bad. The transformations are painful and messy, they don't get easier as time goes on, and the beast form is a humanoid, digitigrade figure with ugly, wolffish features. Stay wild, wolf child!🐺
I have strong animalistic urges of a wolf, I feel most at home when surrounded by the forrest, moon and other canines. I long for a pack and a place to belong. But I'm conflicted on whether I'm wolf kin or not. Is there any way to tell or come to terms with it?
I think the whole wolf-kin thing gets a lot of flack for being ‘weird’ and unconventional, but how you react to the possibility of identifying with wolves is completely down to you. Remind yourself that it is completely normal to have a ‘favourite animal’, or that wanting to channel certain aspects of one is a popular method in business, athletics, etc. The whole therian thing comes, as you are saying, when it becomes more of a connection to these things than others may feel.
In all honesty, you can keep it to yourself if that’s what you’re afraid of - I do, everyone just knows its my favourite animal, etc. It sounds like you are wolfkin, and there are many resources on Tumblr and other sites that will help you figure it out for sure, but it is always a subjective experience that is hard to generalise on. You never need to put labels on yourself, and if you feel unsure you don’t have to name yourself one way or another. The need to be in the wilds, sharing certain behaviours with an animal (like wanting a pack, etc.), and many other concerns of yours are clear signs that you are connected more than most, and you shouldn’t feel worried about it, because you can find communities on here and elsewhere of people who may be exactly like you, and that is always a good thing. Dive in to the therian tags and follow some blogs, and learn more about yourself and the whole ‘-kin’ thing through that.
To come to terms with it, explore your feelings. Take time to meditate on certain realisations you have about yourself and work through them personally - why do you feel like this? What started this off? It’s all helpful, even if the answer is ‘I don’t know’ - at least you tried. Working through fears and negative emotions is the best way to understand this part of yourself (and is my general advise for life), and realise it isn’t wrong or weird, it’s just life, and humans are different in too many ways to count - this just happens to be yours. Good luck!
How do I make you not hate me

Return to the forest, dark and deep. Reunite with your pack, with secrets they’ll keep.
Love this blog so much! xxx
Thank you!! I’m so grateful that there are so many people who can connect with one another and find solidarity here!
I’m back!
Sorry for the very unannounced hiatus, I have been working towards my Masters degree in Death, Religion, and Culture! I’m enjoying it so far, but it’s a hell of a lot of work!
I am absolutely blown away that you guys are still sending in questions, submissions, and prompts because it reminds me that all the hard work I put in to this blog does actually mean something! Did you know we’re also close to 600 followers already?! You guys are incredible!
However! My queue (as usual) is at zero, and desperately needs suggestions! I have a few questions that I will be answering and adding to the queue, but that may take a little while (due to research, thinking out answers, etc) so please send in as many suggestions as you can! For every one suggestion I get, I add one of my own in to bulk it up!
Thanks for sticking with me, pack!
Stay wild 🐺💙
understanding yourself is power.
loving yourself is freedom.
Forgiving yourself is peace
being a werewolf is radical
To second that anon asking about different kinds of werewolves, do you think there are types of werewolves that don't quite follow that list you made? I personally think there are. Its a big world, and I feel like those can't be the only kinds of werewolves out there.
Of course! At the end I kind of acknowledge my own limited perception (seeing as I’m a western werewolf). There are definitely signs of us in folklore and mythology all around the world, and therefore there must be many different kinds, maybe some currently undocumented!
For example, in Africa (most commonly Egypt) there is the werejackal that were / are cursed by Anubis to transform in to the bestial form at night. Also in Africa (specifically Kenya) are the Ilimu. They are not human however, but are believed to be demons who possess animals and can form them in to a shape of a man. So that’s just a couple of examples from one continent!
If you’re interested in these things, I fully encourage you to research it. There is a surprising amount of information / documentation of these things!

Thoughts on witches
How would you feel if one of your followers was a witch?
Grey says: It is easy to assume that witches and werewolves would be natural enemies; one cursing the other with the bestial affliction, and the other seeking revenge by bloodshed. However, the history of our kind is more of allegiance that you may think.
Humans tend to forget their history fairly quickly, but you do not have to be supernaturally inclined to have heard of the Witch Trials, the most famous being in Salem. However, little do people know that this cultural phenomenon (whatever you believe was the cause) was not limited to the American town, but originally began in Europe in the Middle Ages, and spread worldwide across the decades.
At the time the killing of the suspicious began, there was no such understandings of pathogens, bacteria or other causes of diseases and conditions, and so any strange condition that could not be explained was often attributed to magic or the supernatural. Hysteria caused by suffering and hallucinations / delusions forced authorities to blame someone, and soon the blame fell on to not only witches, but werewolves as well. The growth of belief in both these terrifying creatures ran parallel.
Like the witchcraft trials as a whole, the trial of supposed werewolves emerged in what is now Switzerland during the Valais Witch Trials in the early 15th century. These events then spread throughout Europe in the 16th, peaking in the 17th and subsiding by the 18th century. The persecution of werewolves and the associated folklore of them is an integral part of the “witch-hunt” phenomenon, albeit a marginal one that is usually left untouched by historians, but still lead to the deaths of many in the name of combating the supernatural.
Of course, the existence of our kinds is far different today than it was back then. We understand that (most) witches do not dance with the devil to curse mankind, and the curse of the werewolf is no longer seen as the widespread threat that haunted Europe in the Middle Ages. Our kinds have died together, side by side in death by humanity’s fear of us, but now we prosper together and go forth hand in hand (or paw) in to a brighter future for us both. You are not my enemy; you know of my suffering, and I yours.
How do you feel about witches?
I’ve actually written a whole post about witches! (link here, but I’ll also reblog it in case you’re on mobile).
If your asking for me, personally? I, myself, don’t know any witches, but I do not hold any hatred for them, despite the over-generalisation of ‘witch turns innocent human to beast’, because they, too, are ‘othered’ by society. If anything, we need to stand together, hold our ground, and be who we are, unapologetically.
