Cam was lovely enough to let me ask her a few questions for this blog. I hope you guys enjoy.

Q: How did you get your start in the Industry? 

CR: Before I was a makeup artist I was a professional ballerina!! After a life changing injury I turned to makeup. I assisted the greats Kevyn Aucoin, François NARS, and Val Garland. This was my apprenticeship and they were my mentors

Q: Were there any obstacles you faced?

CR: Actually I have always been very blessed that the people whom taught me lead me to my career today. The only obstacle I’ve ever faced in life is jealously from others.

Q: What do you love the most about your job?

CR: Everyday is different, I could be on a film set, or a tv set, on tour with a musician, artist or band. Working on a celebrity or actress for a red carpet event to shooting the latest Victoria Secrets campaign. 

Q: How does your process of creating a flattering look for a model look like?

CR: It all comes down to the creative director and client, it’s then my job to recreate the look that they want for that model.

Q: How do you pick which products and brands to work with?

CR: I only work with brands that are vegan, cruelty free, sustainable and have the same ethos as I do when it comes to the planet and animal cruelty. 

Q: Who are your top 3 people to work with?

CR: I love actress Naomi Watts (fellow aussie)

(Supermodel/ VS girl) Jess Hart is my dear girlfriend and I’ve worked with her since she was 15.

And then my BFF Genevive Padalecki she is one of the kindest humans I know, is an incredible mother and wife, she calls me most days just to check in or with makeup and beauty questions. This women has rescued me in many a situation. She’s my ride or die, my sister.

Q: If you had the power to create a makeup line or product with absolutely no hindrance in the universe what would it be? 

CR: Actually I would love to help large famous brands that we all know do better and be better!! 

The industry is already overly saturated with cosmetics, it would be my dream to make these large commercial brands cleaner and greener, and animal friendly.

Q: How do you balance a busy career with me time and family time? 

CR: Mediation is my go to! If I’m not grounded I can’t be of service to my family, or my clients.

It’s that whole put your oxygen mask on before helping others!!! 

Q: Any tips?

Q: How do you feel about the beauty standards created by Instagram? 

CR: I think that Instagram has become very EGO based and Narcissistic, I always try to use my platform for the greater good, by be encouraging and to inspire, I think everyone is beautiful, and people don’t need makeup to make them beautiful. It should be a tool to enhance NOT cover up!! 

Q: Any updates on your skincare line?

CR: Watch this space! With Covid my Earth day 2020 launch has been postponed! 

Q: If you could pick a statement to be burned into the minds of everyone on this planet what would it be?

CR: Be yourself, do better be better, inspire, but most of all BE kind
