The Pareto principle is a principle, named after economist Vilfredo Pareto, that specifies an unequal relationship between inputs and outputs. The principle states that 20% of the invested input is responsible for 80% of the results obtained.

I went to a late-night Friday showing of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie. It's great, and not a typical "for guys" type of sci-movie.

If you have never watched Star Wars before but you want some backstory, then I'd suggest watching Empire Strikes Back aka Star Wars 5. If you can watch 4 & 6 then great. The prequal aka 1-3 aren't worth the effort at this point.

I tumbled (is it still called that?) all of three times in 2015. A new record. Over lunch I trimmed my people / bots I'm following down to under 90 which I think is almost half.

In hindsight I wish I never would have created my main "blog thing" on my primary Tumblr account. So much of this is/was cathartic and was from a phase of my life where not only was I extremely unhappy but I did not know how to be happy. Pre-divorce, divorcing, post-divorce, and then the beginning and end of a few relationships.

I stopped looking at referrer logs after I realized that people from my past life were actively seeking me out and were reading what was once my soul bleeding. I though maybe I was being paranoid but the locations are unique to the individual and consistent. I was emailed out of anger one time from someone (an ex) who thought that maybe something I wrote was about her and she was mad. Spoiler: it was not.

Blocking someone does not stop them from logging out and checking your blog.

Changing your username does not deter someone from finding your new blog if they have ever liked one of your posts.

Changing your blog url does not stop someone (even if you have blocked them) if one of your friends re-posts one of your funny photos or a post.

Making your account private defeats the purpose of publishing on the web. I have enough folders of writing which I have never published (yes my filter is bad but one exists).

I’ve spent the past year losing 80 lbs and getting in shape. Seems apropos to the recent climate in our times. To pretend that in our country there does not exist a layered caste system is to prefer to live in ignorance.

I stumbled on "American Songwriter's Top 50 Albums of 2013" earlier this year and we are Spotify friends you'll notice that I have worn this playlist out. While more country and American folk alt than I'm typically into, there are some really solid artists here. I trimmed down the list to more of a Top 30 list.

One the standouts for me has been Kacey Musgraves who is both a talented song writer and has an amazing voice. This song is one of my favorites.

For me, the song reminds me of the phase after a relationship ends when you start to re-think everything. My mind wants to distill the relationship into good memories. You or the other person thinks that it is as easy as just being together and everything will work out. You know better and what is right for you yet you wind up in the same place again.
