The claws indeed seem to be drawn as dark pulsing synths invite us into SkyDive’s latest single, Claw Marks. It’s obvious we’re in for a cinematic experience as the song swells and builds upon itself with restless suspense. But then a snappy beat kicks in and we’re suddenly rushing through an electrifying gauntlet, pulled and pushed by frisky synthpop and spirited retrowave brimming with sultry heat. The Irvine based project offers some of the most remarkable vocals of the year on the song, breathy raw and full of life. SkyDive explains of the song: “Meet Gregory. Gregory is a Junior, on varsity, and is waving to his cutie who’s running track. And this is his song, Claw Marks.” Aside from scintillating music, SkyDive are refined raconteurs, too. Listening and dancing to Claw Marks is like watching a movie.
This is so awesome. Thanks so much for reviewing our song, and such an in-depth analysis of our music is really cool to see. I did, however, need to google "scintillating" and a few other words...
