โWell, I canโt just have you performing without an introduction, can I? That would be rather gauche.โ
โI didnโt think youโd want to show me off, Al.โ She couldnโt help but tease.
โEven I would be a fool to stop a diamond from shining in a sunless place.โ
ย ย ย ย Words failed, cheeks flushing red as she quickly averted her eyes. Swiftly, she grabbed her tail, having sensed the shift that happened when it tried to grab something it was not supposed to. She hoped that Alastor could not hear her racing heart in her chest, cursing her feeble disguise that made her feel weak.ย ย
โSo tell me,โ she cleared her throat, regaining composure. โHow do you make magic in there?โ
ย ย ย ย ย ย His smile turned a bit more genuine as he explained how everything worked, from the console to the mic he enjoyed using when it wasnโt his staff. He kept on going about equipment and the program for a while longer, gesturing grandly as he spoke and Polly had to admit that sheโd stopped listening at some point, just focusing on his voice and his hands.ย
ย ย ย ย ย Had his fingers always looked so long and sharp? She wondered how deep they would cut, should he hold her face between his hands. Her cheeks burned at the thought, her tail moving behind her back, since when did she care about such things?ย
ย ย ย ย ย While she had gotten rather close to him in the past, times were different now and she doubted that Alastor would see her as anything but an acquaintance, and certainly not a potential lover. She almost frowned at the bitterness that settled in her stomach at the thought, why did she even care?ย
ย ย ย ย ย Getting close to Alastor had never really been the ultimate goal to come here, Charlie had always been the priority yet the disappointment persisted. It actually was endearing to see him talking about something he was so passionate about with a genuine spark in his eyes. Such things were rare in Hell, even more so when it came to Alastor.ย
ย ย ย ย Would it be so awful, to indulge for once?
