Meet Quantum Cat!

1 part collegiate office hours, 1 part cat cafe, 1 part science museum - our Quantum Cat entertains educationally and educates entertainingly! An amalgamation of the mythical Cat Sith from Celtic folklore and the physics hypotheticals of Schrödinger's Cat, Quantum Cat has so much to teach his human audience about time and trees, space and soil.

Who's the smartest cat in euclidean space? He is!

Meet Gertrude: she doesn't talk much but she has a lot to say, so keep your eyes peeled. And the man that she's riding is Charon - you may remember him as the Greek riverboat god who ferries souls across the river Acheron. Good natured, if a little confused, our Charon will get you safely to the other side.

And, look alive! Because the captain drops some pretty profound wisdom when he least expects it.

These gods from every creed and culture are experts on the in-between, specialists in the unknown. Ranging from the silly to the solemn, each guide is brought to vibrant life with innovative specificity that charms, provokes, or comforts.

Our Circle

We gather to ask questions about what makes us human, what is essential to our experience. Thank you for joining to revel with us in the best of ourselves, and to take a hard look at the worst, to consider and ponder how power corrupts, how we go awry, and how we can avoid the pitfalls of history.

This is the work of art - “to hold as ‘twere the mirror up to nature” - and we take that work very seriously. Sometimes it’s a joyful job, sometimes we take time to bask in the bravery of people, to wonder at our own whimsy and wisdom.

Sometimes the task is tougher, when we must reckon with the horrors of which humanity is capable. But it’s never something we have to look at alone - we gather in a circle to see ourselves reflected in each others’ eyes, fully awake and aware. Thank you for being part of our circle.

Our Lady of the Moon arrives at Western Hills Garden in Occidental, California on October 4 with an intimate opening ceremony.

This interactive installation honors release and renewal with evocative signage that guides the visitor to a towering ladder built of recycled California cedar.

The intimate opening ceremony event is limited to 30 people. Be among the few to experience the magical garden after hours, enjoy a personal communion with the Moon Goddess, and share conversation over dinner with fellow art and nature appreciators, as well as We Players' Artistic Director and creative team.

Our plucky Caretta Caretta travels north next month with 3 performances of The Keeper at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, September 5-7.

Check out the work of our dear friend Bill Barclay coming to San Francisco this weekend! The hit immersive touring production Secret Byrd appears at Grace Cathedral July 17 & 18.

This is an unique immersive theatrical candlelit concert, recreating a secret Catholic mass from the 1590's to highlight the artist advocacy of composer William Byrd, who was risking his life to protect the freedom of belief in Renaissance Britain.

We continue our 25th anniversary I Am We series with Ann Podlozny.

You saw Ann as Lady Macbeth this spring & you've seen her influence in all of our shows, as she was Artistic Director Ava Roy's earliest theatre teacher.
