Couple Review #1: OhYe Couple
Ahhhh... OhYe couple. Seriously, one of the best couples I've watched. No dull moments were present and every episode was something to look forward to. I'm always excited to watch them after work because this stint is a stress reliever from the start up to the last episode.Â
Honestly, I didn’t know them before watching them. I just know their names I guess, but I haven’t watched them in any variety show/drama/movie except in We Got Married. I’ve just researched if there are any bad reception against OhYe couple and I when I found none, I decided to watch it.Â
And it was a very good decision. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much.Â
I rarely watch older couples (they are both 36 y/o when they did WGM) because I have this impression that older couples are boring and maybe there will be a lot of dead air while filming, but it wasn’t! This stint broke all of wrong impression on having an older couples in WGM. Words aren’t enough to express my happiness while watching them on screen. It was really good.Â
The first meeting was SO CUTE. I liked Oh Minsuk from the start and it was the opposite of my impression with Kang Yewon. Same with Minsuk’s first impression, I really thought that she was kinda weird and a very unique person. But after a few episodes, I was laughing with them and unconsciously, I am enjoying their conversations. Yewon is really cute when she asks questions and I always laugh when Minsuk becomes dumbfounded on some of her questions.Â
Oh, and their couple song?? I cannot??? Knowing that they wrote the lyrics themselves, there’s this good feeling you get while listening to it. I’m a kpop fan so I’ve listened to a lot of rappers but this is the first time I really liked a rapper. Minsuk’s rap sounds like he’s doing it for years. It’s so good and I always feel flustered once his part comes on. Their intro is so. damn. cute. Gemma K and Oh Deputy totally nailed it.Â
When I first searched their name in Google, Hawaii is always on the related search:
At first, I thought that their Hawaii vacation was their most remarkable event during their time in WGM (since I haven’t finished watching it yet at that time). But after finishing all the episodes, I was surprised that they received a mission card after their last interview. I watched a lot of couples now and this was the first time I’ve seen something like this. I mean, couples do go at celebratory parties with the staff after their stints, but for the PD to give them a vacation after their virtual marriage? It was a great feeling for them, I’m sure. I didn’t watch them while they are doing WGM, but it seems like OhYe couple did received a lot of love from the viewers if you’ve seen the length of their episodes. The majority of the episodes are 20+ minutes and the longer the screen time they get, the more love they get from the viewers. I’m so happy for them.Â
Honestly, even if they wouldn’t get to date after their time in WGM, the fact that they became good friends thru this show is something to celebrate. <3
