What's wrong with my neighbor?
its only 2G.
I despise the theory "deltarune is all a simulation made by gaster/player/angel and none of it is real"
It's my least favorite trope ever, it's such a lazy cop-out.
I believe in device theory, but the game itself is the window we use to view this world.
But if in a later chapter Susie turns to the camera and goes "wow our whole world is a fake simulation, that's crazyyyyy!!!!!" I'm going to lose it.
Here's something I never understood;
If Gaster created deltarune, then why are we waiting for "his" version of it? It's the implication that the deltarune we are seeing now, isn't what he wants. Why does he want to create a new future, and seemingly defy the prophecy?
I don't think he wrote the prophecy, even though it's "fortold across time and space", why would he create this whole master plan to change the outcome of the prophecy if he wrote it??
He's handing out shadow crystals to those who seek some kind of freedom, ImageFriend, who is heavily tied to random values, the fact that he doesn't intervene with either route.
That doesn't sound like someone with godlike powers that can create some alternate reality, it sounds more like a man trying to test for a variable that will offer a different result, a way to overcome fate, even if it's unethical.
A visual summary of the entire Dark Amalgamate Theory
With Chapter 5 releasing in about 3 days, I felt like making this in order to sum up my entire Dark Amalgamate theory in one image.
If you want to kill time before Chapter 5, feel free to read the entire thing here:
💬 0 🔁 5 ❤️ 9 · The Dark Amalgamate Theory : an attempt at creating a comprehensive model of Deltarune's past and its parallels with Undert
Haven't read the entire thing, but based off your timeline graphic your theory is so close to mine it makes me happy, like I don't think I've seen anyone else bring up that their must be a timeline that existed before what we play through in deltarune.
Especially if gaster is both the "another him" and the forgotten man at the same time.
Not 100% with it, I think sans had worked with gaster during undertale at some point (you may have pointed this out in your write out so sorry if I'm jumping the gun) since my 2016 undertale brain still lives on, and that's one piece of fandom lore that's going to stick with me, right or wrong.
Though lately I've been leaning towards UTgaster never having been from deltarune, and learned about the world of deltarune from sans, which is what fuels his studies into the dark worlds.
Aaaaugh I need to fully write out my theory...

This post was originally a YouTube Comment, but I cooked too damn hard for this analysis to only be on one site. Thus:
(WARNING! DELTARUNE SPOILERS AHEAD! CHAPTER 5 SPOILERS OFF THE PORT BOW!)
"The way Tricky Toby hid what was likely a jaw-droppingly horrifying reveal behind another, worse jaw-droppingly horrifying scene is just... Noelle's hair dries in her final sprite, her face lit from below by a sinister light. Your text box turns back to white, you stop hearing the damage noises altogether (and will never notice because of the boosted and distorted audio of the confirmation jingle). And the Thank You Survey having "Under the Lake" be THE correct answer, with an additional message of "So, what did you think?" Maybe I'm spit-balling, reading too much into it, but it feels like he deliberately made it look like Noelle and/or The SOUL/the Player committed a murder-suicide just to hide that Noelle was RIGHT. That they did the impossible, literally breaking out of bounds. And what they saw next...we won't know for a long time, but it can't be good. Or maybe, it's very, very good..."
Or, in other words...
I don't think Noelle and Kris drown in the Weird Route.
I think they succeed.
And what they find...might be worse than death.
Anyone else listening to HappyTown on repeat?
Despite it's ties to the weird route, I find it strangely beautiful.
A somber song, even the music knows what's about to happen, so it gives you one last moment of peace before everything you know is washed away by the waves.
Also someone on youtube described it as "music to put your dog down to"
yeah...
Ok so
There’s a new theory called the Meat Factory Theory fjdhshfhdh
And I’m gonna copy and paste what I said to my Discord gc about it here
Basically here’s the theory:
In Undertale’s Sound Test room we find four songs, three of which are Happy Town, Meat Factory, and Gaster’s Theme. In Deltarune Chapter 5’s Weird Route, the festival theme is replaced with a song titled Happy Town
In the normal route, one of Undertale’s goner NPCs is selling octopus that tastes like onion, leading fans to believe Onionsan was killed and cooked. Thus, Meat Factory theory. In the weird route, this goner salesperson never shows up (according to Susie) and the stand is left empty all day
Weird route screenshots from MysticSlime
This character never appearing in the Weird Route is very suspicious. They also use the wrong currency, as Deltarune uses $, not G. Undertale uses G. Something weird is going on here
The theory basically goes that each of the Sound Test songs may become relevant, especially since Happy Town already has been. If Onionsan may have actually been killed, that could lean into Meat Factory. Of course we’re all just concerned about Gaster’s Theme, especially since all other songs are overridden by playing it
And uh… the last song I didn’t mention, Trouble Dingle, sounds a bit like the weird route jingle. But maybe that’s a stretch
Also, the sound test room happens at a lake (well, more of a river). Something weird is going on here
Emphasis on the word river back there.
Anyway, this may also tie into the Sans’s Secret Room thing in Undertale considering the punch card doodle Susie draws is different in the weird route
In the normal route, Sans asks Susie to draw her friends. She presumably draws Noelle, Kris, and Ralsei, but it’s never specified. In the weird route, Sans asks her to draw herself and her friends, so she specifically says that she drew herself, Kris, and Ralsei
Also sorry to MysticSlime for taking the worst possible screenshots fhdhshdhdhshjxs
This could also be a reference to the theory that Susie wasn’t supposed to be a part of the prophecy, and that Noelle was supposed to be The Girl. One timeline has the card with Noelle on it (normal), and the other has the card with Susie on it (weird)
Either way, the card still contains a poorly drawn picture of three smiling people
Looks like this next experiment will be very very interesting indeed. The Weird Route is expected to entirely skip over Chapter 6, and 6 is Gaster’s lucky number. I wonder what that means for the Sound Test Room
Anyway that’s all I have on the Meat Factory Theory see you guys next chapter fhdhshdhdhsh
i am once again posting my gaster plushies

me and every undertale fan losing our shit when sans told susie and kris to draw a picture so he wouldn't forget them
Wouldn't it be cool if we get a boss rush of all the people who've been captured by the knight?
Like a goner Asgore and Undyne fight whenever we enter the bunker
It's a good way of doing a remix of their fights from Undertale
