𝒂𝒕  𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕  𝒔𝒉𝒆  𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒔  𝒉𝒆’𝒍𝒍  𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆  𝒊𝒕  .  she’s  back  from  the  dead  ,  after  all  ,  having  allowed  each  and  every  one  of  her  loved  ones  to  believe  she  was  deceased  for  years  ,  but  the  sudden  embrace  comes  as  a  welcome  surprise  .  through  her  shattered  confusion  she  pulls  him  in  close  ,  tears  pricking  her  doe  eyes  as  he  confides  in  her  as  if  no  time  has  passed  at  all  .     ❛  your  secret  is  safe  with  me  .  ❜     she  says  through  a  tearful  smile  ,  clutching  onto  him  like  she  had  so  many  times  ,  providing  him  support  and  comfort  .  droplets  begin  to  fall  down  her  own  ,  reddened  cheeks  ,  porcelain  skin  now  a  soft  shade  of  pink  .

after  a  few  moments  she  pulls  back  to  look  at  him  ,  her  hands  still  planted  firmly  on  his  sides  ,  taking  in  all  of  the  new  features  of  his  face  that  she’d  missed  whilst  she’d  been  gone  .     ❛  i  know  you  probably  have  so  many  questions  .  ❜     the  wind  whipped  up  around  them  ,  flower  petals  scattering  from  the  countless  bouquets  ;  her  grave  sat  there  silently  ,  the  grey  stone  boring  holes  into  her  body  as  it  stared  .  she  was  relieved  to  have  tommy  ,  he  was  all  that  stood  between  her  and  hyper  fixating  on  that  empty  hole  in  the  ground  .

some part of him still doesn’t think its real, but the thought is immediately put on hold the moment the moment she pulls away to actually look at him. tommy’s brows are knitted together and he doesn’t say anything right away, silently nodding. ‘’you know i do. guess i’m bound to have them.. with you.. back now.’’ he murmurs, hands sliding up and down her arms to give her a tiny assuring smile. tommy wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon and now they had all the time in the world.

𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈  𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒚  𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒅  𝒕𝒐  𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓  𝒉𝒆𝒓  𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔  after  her  meeting  with  devlin  ,  the  blonde  had  found  herself  wandering  the  town  she  once  called  home  in  search  of  some  kind  of  solace  .  she’d  cleaned  the  graves  of  the  dead  before  she’d  …  disappeared  ,  believing  they  deserved  comfort  in  the  afterlife  as  well  as  in  life  ,  so  perhaps  that’s  why  she  was  drawn  to  the  cemetery  .  why  she  failed  to  think  the  same  place  she  once  volunteered  to  help  now  held  a  space  just  for  her  .  for  the  memory  of  herself  she  would  now  tarnish  forever  .

at  first  she  believed  he  was  just  another  man  grieving  ,  not  listening  to  the  hushed  words  he  spoke  in  order  to  provide  him  privacy  (  graveyards  were  basically  the  only  place  she  didn’t  eavesdrop  in  )  ,  but  as  soon  as  he  shifted  to  meet  her  ,  a  person  he’d  also  assumed  was  nothing  more  than  a  stranger  ,  her  eyes  widened  at  the  years  older  features  of  her  best  friend  .  she  was  both  relieved  that  he  was  still  here  ,  safe  and  well  ,  even  after  all  these  years  ,  but  also  acutely  horrified  at  their  meeting  happening  so  suddenly  .

❛  tommy  …  ❜     she  began  ,  voice  soft  and  full  of  regret  ,     ❛  i’m  so  sorry  ,  mon  étoile  ,  i  didn’t  mean  for  us  to  meet  like  this  .  ❜

it wasn’t real-- was the first thought in his mind. 

this was some sick trick his mind was playing on him by now, and she would disappear any second. but damn she doesn’t, and that resolve tommy had built up ever since the day he had thought.. she ‘’died’’-- was crumbling before him. tommy had his person back, the one he’d call when he needed a voice of reason, the one who would sit there with him in silence if he needed it.. the one who saw through his shit, other than devlin.  tommy stands there, unsure of what to do for a few seconds before.. before finally taking the slow step forward. he’s practically in reaching distance for her, but doesn’t do anything yet-- icy optics searching every little thing to her.
