Saw your post about Planet Zoo 2! I agree. With the Sims, each iteration has its own gameplay mechanics (or a large modding scene that can utilise high-poly meshes, in the case of Sims 4) that make each game worth revisiting. I worry that Planet Zoo 2 will just be the same game with a few extra mechanics, completely overshadowing the original.
I only hope the new game integrates script mod compatibility. That's something new that couldn't just be added to the original without completely uprooting the code.
I'll probably still get it because I admire their dedication to educating players on welfare, but it'll feel like a dirty purchase for a while.
yeah tbh from everything i've seen so far planet zoo 2 does seem to be basically the same game with slightly better graphics and the ability to do various things that to my eye could very well have just been added to the first game and doesn't warrant an entire new one but we'll see i guess!
i don't really play planet zoo enough to make getting the second game worth it. like i literally got into the game two years ago and now they're like oh we're done with this actually, get this new one 🙃 i'm gonna just keep an eye on it and if it has something that REALLY speaks to me i'll wait for a fat sale and get it then lmao
