“Dad?” The past few days were obviously very hard and traumatic for Isaac, but the reaction of his father set him off the most. Or are you going to keep acting like a bubbly asshole?” Probably too harsh to say, but he hadn’t been this angry at him since he first met him.

there were a few things the old mutant knew for certain. one: he was, historically, a bad father. two: he hated mind control or altering of any sort. three: mind control or no, he was awful at comforting people. all these things rang very true in the old man’s mind as his son approached. his only reaction was a small sigh and nod. he deserved it, “you know i wasn’t thinkin’ straight. none of the town was. I’m sorry.”
