Morgan laid in the quad, arms and legs spread out. Sitting up as she did so, she said, “As lovely as winter can be,” Truthfully, she hated winter. Cold winter and snow had never been much of her thing, and her wardrobe clashed with both. “I have missed just how great the sun is.” She said.

          There’s a small look of sympathy as Salem’s eyes trail down from his twin’s to the ground. Taking another drag of his cigarette and exhaling slowly , he shakes his head. ❝ I’m gonna call bullshit on that. ❞ He replies , a shake of his head. ❝ I think out of the BOTH of us , ❞ the confidence in his tone isn’t loosely put - he means the entirety of this sentence with his whole being , ❝ you’re the easiest of us to like. Easiest to get along with. Even if people know what you are … I can’t see people disliking you unless they’re STUPID. ❞ Salem believes himself to be an entirely different case , as someone with a knack for pushing people away so he doesn’t get hurt. Making himself easily to dislike so the pain lessens. ❝ You’re great. ❞

“Are you being serious right now?” Rosario massaged her temples. “How in the world did you think that was a good idea?” There were times when Rosario thought that going into deep cover in the middle of Serbia would be much more enjoyable than dealing with the baby superheroes that called Paragon home. Or dealing with superheroes in general. She needed a fucking raise. 

         ❝  OH DON’T WORRY ,  really !  if anything ,  you’re doing me a huge favor ,  ❞  after all ,  angel didn’t really want to waltz around a hot cup of latte in each hand ,  especially when she knew it would just be a waste .  still ,  when the blond smiles ,  the redhead instantly notices a pair of sharp fangs in his teeth ,  causing her eyes to widen .  of course ,  one’s natural reaction might be to be afraid ,  but she knew better than to judge someone right away .  after all ,  angel herself was a little strange .  returning the smile with one of her own ,  she nods at an empty seat .  ❝  there’s nothing to thank me for ,  you’re all good .  mind if i sit here ?  ❞

     ❝  EXCUSE ME ?  yes ,  hi ,  ❞  a smile grows on the redhead’s rosy lips upon capturing the other person’s attention ,  or at least part of it .  these situations were always a little uncomfortable regardless of whom she spoke too ,  though there couldn’t be any harm in being polite …  right ?  ❝  i’m sorry ,  but i just got myself  a latte  and the barista gave me two instead .  i guess it’s some of those buy one get two sales .  you want it ?  ❞  angel inquires with a light shrug ,  gaze shifting between the lattes in her hand before extending one to the other person ,  ❝  i really couldn’t handle more than just one even if i tried .  ❞

Lio drummed her fingers against the table. In front of her, android schematics forgotten and a latte rapidly cooling in front of her. Too much was going. She heard the hum of the air conditioning. (There was to find air conditioning unit and take it apart, either to find out what was wrong or make it better if nothing was.) She watched the queue. She smelt the sugar and the syrup they used. Frustration built within her. (You need to get out more. You can’t just live in the lab.) 

Turning her attention back to the paper in front of her, she forced her hand to still, grabbed her discarded pencil. Still nothing. She groaned in frustration. After a moment, she grabbed the schematic, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it towards the garbage, only a few feet away from her, and right into someone. 

“Shit. Sorry.” She said. A beat later, she asked, “Could you throw that away for me?”

Blayze looks at the paper ball crumpled at his feet, then turns his gaze back up to where it had come from. “Yeah, sure!” He says softly as he bends down to toss it into the bin. He doesn’t really mind that he had been hit with it. It’s really the least of his worries though as he moves to plop down next to her. 

“Listen, I can teach you how to fly a plane.” Carol sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “But, I need you to be sure. Like willing to sign a waiver kind of sure.”

“I’m always ready for danger! Where do I sign? I don’t have a pen so I hope you do, ma’am.” Blayze says with a bright grin, as he could hardly believe it. 

“Of course. I must say that partying to the more option however. I trust your judgement enough to go with your ideas, well at least to give them a chance.” Sylvia hummed. 

           He sets his hand on his twin’s shoulder , staring forward as the grin remains. ❝ God , I WISH I could make a living off of stuff like this. Just pranking with magic n’ that stuff ?? Blayze , do you know how FUN that sounds ?? ❞ Though - he’s not as into the idea as he sounds , as fun as it is. The ideal dream would to be a quiet one , drawing in his apartment concept designs that’d be seen by the entire world. For comics , games , the like. The fun stuff that would need interesting designs. ❝ This’ll get a laugh at least out of the people our age. Y’know , the FUN people. ❞

“that’s….kinda hot.” they paused. “am i allowed to say that? i mean, toxin appreciates it too, if that counts for anything.” teddy narrowed their eyes at the fangs, taking in the other’s appearance more carefully now. “you one of them old timey ones? can’t go out in the sun kinda job? ‘cause that’s gotta suck, man.”

“wait – sorry, are you saying that you’re a vampire?” teddy’s eyes widened. “or someone who knows vampires? ‘cause that’s a whole other ballpark, pal.”

         EVIL grin continues to display itself as Salem looks from his twin to the boombox again. There’s a lean forward in anticipation , before he begins to sing an enchantment , ❝ Yalp og , no emag ruoy teg , rats-lla na er'uoy , won yeh. ❞ A deep breath for a milisecond pause , but he snaps his fingers , and suddenly - Somebody once told me the world was gonna roll me , I ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Salem , proud of his trick , turns to his twin. ❝ WAY better sound quality than just listening to it on the phone , don’tcha think ?? ❞

“What kind of fun did you have in mind? I could probably arrange a party. Or a heist. They are similarly entertaining.”

“yeah… i can see how that would be boring. my..gift is kinda just to terrify people into giving me stuff. i can also…slip into places. y’know, normal teenager stuff.”

❝ what’ve you got against fancy parties ? ❞ he’s been attending them since… forever. came with his last name(s).

“i can do skating – stealing is too easy when you got my powers, i gotta say. but fine, you got big talk so i better be entertained.”

            ❝ You say that like I’m not even your twin - I’m your IDEA MACHINE. Twenty fuckin’ years of following and looking after your ass and this is the thanks I get ?? ❞ Of course , he’s obviously joking - both the tone and the grin that cracks his lips are fully evident. His eyes trail around the area , scoping out targets for potential pranks or shenanigans , both of which Salem’s experienced in. Of course , it’s more to entertain other people than himself ; his twin should know that , at least. He’s more of someone who prefers the quiet , the utter calm that comes from music blaring in the earbuds as he strokes a brush against a canvas. But that’s not what everyone else is supposed to see. A painted green fingernail points in the direction of a nearby electronics store , a boombox on display outside to play music. And Salem gets an awful idea , looking once again towards his twin. ❝ Hey - do you like … SMASH MOUTH ?? ❞
