Team Free Will

He'd seen the confusion that had flitted over the other's features when the door opened. It made it gut twist further. Maybe he was lost. Never in his life had he felt more alone. Never with his garrison and never with the boys.... but now they weren't even speaking to him. He'd done too much wrong. He'd played God, he messed with an already delicate balance. He had broken Sam, and he had become a fugitive of heaven.

Now.....here he was standing before a man that had done nothing wrong. He was standing before a man that could so easily have taken on the life of a hunter, and he hadn't. He lived his life as he was meant to. He had ignored the call of what was out there even after staring it in the face.

He should leave.... It was what he wanted to do. Castiel didn't want to drag him into this hell, or even to his death. It was in that moment the angel made a promise to himself that if Bill died, he would do anything it took to get him and his soul back.

"I have quite a bit to explain to you. I.... I need your help with a being that you believe to be dead."

And when the man finally spoke his brows furrowed, jaw clenching. How did he know his name? And what could a stranger possibly need from him of all people.

"Are you some sort of stalker or something?" Bill hadn't introduced himself, after all yet the brunet clearly knew him. The only plausible reason he could come up with was that he was some sort of fan. Maybe he wanted the writer to read something he had written and give it to his publisher? It wouldn't be the first time that had happened. Although no one had ever shown up at his house before.

Even though part of him just wanted to close the door and maybe contact the authorities, his curiosity was getting the better of him. It was always getting him into some sort of trouble, and something was telling him that this time would be no different.

He wouldn't have ever thought of something so trivial in the past, but Dean had taught him enough about humanity to try and not offend immediately.

"I mean something from another world," the angel retorted, his voice gruff, but sincere. Guilt kept tugging at him, begging him to just disappear. He didn't need to cause more trouble. "An entity you have a rather....intimate knowledge of, unfortunately," he explained, turning to face him once more as blue eyes traces the contours of his face.

"I don't want to have to pull you back in, I really don't, but you're the only one I think would believe me...." he trailed off, knowing he was getting ahead of himself.

"My name is Castiel, and I'm an angel of the lord. The being I'm talking about....he is an eater of worlds. A destroyer. Time and time again, I've seen him throughout history end other civilizations, though none have been as resilient as humans."

Ammo, rope, a bear trap, an axe....

A bad feeling settled into his gut. He tried to play it off like a joke. Pretending he wasn't prying....

"You look like you're getting ready to take someone...or something, down."

She already had a cover story if anyone asked her about her purchases. “Hm? Oh I’m going camping. It never hurts to be prepared.” It was an easily believable lie. Nancy wasn’t exactly fond of the woods now.

After she finished paying, she carefully grabbed her bags then turned eyeing the mystery man’s items curiously. “Could say the same about you though.” She quipped and walked away.

“I fought it before with help. We didn’t manage to destroy it though. Just injured it a bit.” She admitted. “I just don’t want to lose anyone else to it so yeah I’m eager to go after the damn thing.”

Peter could watch her forever, she looked beautiful like this.. positively glowing .. the werewolf felt his heart swell with warmth as he came back into the room with a tub of pistachio ice cream, and chuckled . “She will don’t worry she’ll be here before we know it ..” he was also anxious to have their baby girl out into the world.

He wanted to meet her, to show her everything that he could, share his world with her, he still couldn’t believe he was gonna be a dad . He could only hope he would do it right .

He turned, looking for Peter when he heard it, a quiet coo followed by Peter's whining.

"Peter?" He called.

Peter hadn’t been sure at first .. that his nose was telling the truth there was just no way there was a baby here in this demon den.. as his mind put it .

But sure enough after taking care of one of the demons and leaving the other to Cas, he had came upon a bassinet tucked away in a back room, he sniffed at the baby his tail lifting in curiosity as the girl cooed and patted his snout giggling at the large doggy in front of her.

He heard Cas’s call and let out a whine unwilling to leave the baby alone .

“How is she ?” He asked softly unable to take his eyes off of the baby girl .

Castiel understood far more about humans these days than he had in the beginning of his time on Earth, but the lycanthrope before him always perplexed him. His head was tilted just a bit to the side as he frowned.

"You seem uncomfortable today."

Peter hated the day leading up to a full moon everything felt to much to tight, too enhanced .

The Angel staring at him didn’t help matters. The icy blue hues making him bristle as he resisted the urge to snap and bite.

“Nah I’m just peachy .. it’s only the full moon today is all..” he said sarcastically .

Peter would still eat it anyways he had too, he had made the kill and had to fight for it , he pressed close Against Cas, and nuzzled his leg, watching the forest making sure they weren’t going to come back.

*Thank you..* he said to him.

So now, he was rogue, and rather than sticking with Sam and Dean and putting a target on their backs, he was trying to blend in.

That was how he found himself in Hell's Kitchen. It was a place he felt no one would look for him. It was also a place where the evil of men was prevalent.

The angel never had been one to sit back and watch as people were hurt, and this night was no exception. He hadn't meant to kill the asshole though.

He'd seen a kid get attacked by several men that looked like they were going to hoist him into their waiting van.

So much for that idea....

The angel had fended them off easily, though his anger had gotten the better of him. Before he knew it, the jerk in his grasp had been beaten to no end, and his partners had run off. His chest heaved as he heard a quiet, muffled footstep behind him and he turned, coming face to face with someone he'd only seen in papers. The called the man Daredevil. The Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself.

His grip loosened on the assailant's shirt and he let his lifeless body fall with a sickening thud. Forgotten in the wake of the revelation his oceanic gaze was taking in.

"You....you're..." he started twice before he shook his head. On the brick walls of the buildings around them, shadows danced, cast from the smallest lights, and he could clearly see the outline of wings....but they were wrong. Off. He sensed no grace in this man, and he wondered briefly what he'd done to fall.

"I didn't mean to kill him. I was merely trying to assist the child....brother...." he breathed, testing the word on his tongue, seeing if perhaps he knew the truth, though he doubted it. Most angels, the moment they were cast from heaven, their memories were no longer their own.

He stood tense, body stiff as a board, as his brow pinched behind the protective material of the red painted helmet while he tried frantically to piece it all together. A hand raised slowly to next to his ear and fingers snapped twice, testing his hearing to ensure there wasn’t something wrong with him that would make it so he couldn’t hear the man’s heartbeat. The snap was sharp and clear as well as the sound of the heartbeats of the people sleeping in the apartments in the building next to them. Obviously that wasn’t it. Next option; Matt was dreaming. The same hand moved down to hover above the gash on his thigh he had stitched back together the night before and pressed hard, pain shooting up through like hot electricity. He hissed through clenched teeth and quickly withdraw it.  The man was most likely mentally ill and truly believed he was the Angel Castiel. Or there was the impossible notion he was actually… “It’s not…” Matthew finally gasped and took several hesitant steps back, unsure how to process this particular conclusion. The dim light from an access door on one of the buildings cast the vigilante's shadow across the ground of the alleyway, outlining the wings that used to the there.“It’s not possible…Castiel isn’t mentioned in the bible…” He muttered out as if the fact had any real bearing on the situation.

A laugh, rather akin to a scoff left the angel's lips. He shook his head slowly. The human mind was a funny thing, even if he had once been a powerful being. Of course the elders would program him with disbelief. It made perfect sense. "Do you think the bible mentions the names of every host in heaven's armies?" He questioned, looking the other over. He was dressed as a devil, and honestly it was more fitting than he could ever dream up. A fallen angel..... "It would take more eons of time and more pages in a book than the human mind could ever begin to comprehend. I am just one of many."

"I.... can not fault you though, for your doubts. I know sometimes holiness, righteousness.... they're had to comprehend." Even he himself had his doubts these days after all he'd been through, other angels. His father. He often doubted them all. It was why he was on the run. Now though, conversing with a fallen whether he knew what he was or not.... he was sure it would paint an even larger target on his back.

Sighing to himself, he found an abandoned building and started working on a devil's trap.

The evening was warm and just starting as Peter stalked up towards the building his footsteps quiet, inhumanly quiet he smelled magic and something else nearby . His town had been having problems lately .. weird problems , people missing , animals dying parts of the land becoming sick he knew demonic activity when he saw it, and he wasn’t gonna let his home get ruined .

He stood in one of the doorways of the building and felt like he got slapped in the face seeing Dean standing there , a million questions and urges rushed through him all at once old feelings starting to resurface .. he took a deep breath to tamper them back down.

"You can go home. I've got this," he muttered, his words a deep rumble in his chest.
